During the YSL RICO trial, prosecutors presented alleged footage of YFN Lucci's (a.k.a. Rayshawn Bennett) stabbing in 2022 as new evidence. According to a YouTube video shared by independent journalist Meghann Cuniff on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, prosecutors presented this as evidence that YSL members allegedly carried out the stabbing.

For the unversed, authorities arrested Young Thugg and several others associated with his record label, YSL (Young Stoner Life), in May 2022. The arrest stemmed from violating Georgia's RICO law (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization). Per the indictment, YSL was allegedly a front for the criminal gang Young Slime Life, which was responsible for several violent crimes since 2012.

During the trial, prosecutors accused defendant Jayden Myrick (a.k.a. YSL Trip/Set Trip) of allegedly stabbing rival gang member YFN Lucci, a hit that Young Thug allegedly ordered. Tripp was eventually removed from the YSL RICO case after he was diagnosed with schizophrenia (May 2023).

YFN Lucci was charged with violating RICO laws in May 2021

According to the video shared by Meghann Cuniff, on Tuesday, prosecutors shared alleged footage of YFN Lucci's stabbing with the testimony of Aaron Wolford, a retired security head of Fulton County Jail, where the rapper was stabbed.

The reported video showed Jayden Myrick following Lucci and the pair getting into a violent altercation, ending in the latter's reported stabbing. Prosecutors also presented bodycam footage of the deputy who separated the pair, where he can be heard telling Myrick to "put it down (the weapon)." While Lucci can be heard saying, "That n*gga stuck me."

Prosecutors claimed that the incident was proof that YSL members allegedly carried out criminal activities on behalf of YSL. Additionally, they alleged that it led to the murder of Shymel Drinks in retaliation.

According to a May 2021 report by Fox 5 Atlanta, authorities charged YFN Lucci and a dozen others with violating RICO laws. The 105-count indictment claimed they were part of an alleged faction of the Bloods gang. Lucci's charges included racketeering, violating the state’s anti-gang law, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm while committing a felony.

In March 2022, TMZ claimed that the rapper was reportedly desperate to get out of jail after getting stabbed by a fellow inmate in February. He claimed that the incident occurred when he was on a video call with someone on the outside. He even alleged that the culprit used a homemade shank to carry out the stabbing.

To be noted, YFN Lucci was in prison at the time for violating the terms of his bond stemming from a separate murder case (first arrested in January 2021). He has been in the Fulton County Jail since early 2021.

The friction between the YSL gang and YFN Lucci's gang played an important role in how prosecutors presented the YSL RICO case, specifically the danger of a feud between the rival gangs. According to a report by Bossip, the beef between the groups was why Young Thug (Cobb County jail) and Lucci (Fulton County jail) were held in separate jails.

As per NBC News, Young Thug entered a non-negotiated plea deal after three co-defendants—Rodalius Ryan, Marquavious Huey, and Quamarvious Nichols accepted plea deals.

Of the 28 defendants, nine accepted plea deals before the trial began, twelve were charged separately, and Jayden Myrick was removed from the RICO case.

NBC also reported that only two co-defendants, Deamonte "Yak Gotti" Kendrick and Shannon Stillwell, remain on trial. This means that any evidence presented by the prosecutors would be brought forth in their trial.

As per The Source, YFN Lucci, after accepting a plea bargain earlier this year (sentenced to ten years in prison and ten years of probation with jail time counted as time served), may not be released until January 2025.
