On Thursday, December 12, three new lawsuits were filed against Diddy by attorney Thomas Giuffra. These civil lawsuits, filed by three men who remain anonymous at the moment, claim that Combs had drugged, r*ped, and s*xually assaulted them in separate incidents between 2019 and 2022.
Thomas Guiffra is a New York-based attorney who specializes in the litigation and trial of high-profile s*xual abuse cases, per his bio on the website of the law firm where he is a partner - Rhinegold Giuffra Ruffo Plotkin & Hellman LLP. He also handles cases of significant medical malpractice, personal injury, mass tort, and product liability actions.
Per NBC News, Giuffra said that the plaintiffs in his lawsuits aren't divulging their real names because they're "afraid that one night, somebody affiliated with him, hired by him, could end their life."
Thomas Giuffra started his career at his father's law firm
Thomas Giuffra completed his bachelor's degree with a History major from Boston College, located in Chestnut Hill, Massachusettes. Giuffra then moved to New York, where he pursued law at the St. John's University School of Law.
In an April 2020 interview with Law Dragon, Thomas Giuffra revealed that he was inspired to pursue trial practice by his father, who was also a trial lawyer.
Giuffra worked as a clerk at his father's firm throughout law school and for two years after graduating. He continued:
"However, I discovered very early on in my career that I identified more with plaintiffs than I did with the big corporations and insurance companies that [that] firm represented. This led me to make the very difficult decision to leave my father’s firm and pursue a career representing plaintiffs. I believe that this was the best decision that I have made in my career."
Thomas has been named as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in the New York Metropolitan Area since 2012. In 2015, he was invited to become an Advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates (A.B.O.T.A.) - which is one of the most prestigious trial advocacy organizations in the US.
One of the plaintiffs was a former employee of Diddy
Out of the three lawsuits filed against Diddy yesterday, one had a former employee of the Satisfy You rapper, reported Daily Mail.
The John Doe alleges in the lawsuit that he used to run errands for Combs between 2006 and 2020, and had accompanied him to a meeting at the InterContinental New York Times hotel in February 2020.
While at the meeting, Doe was offered a drink by Diddy which was laced with something that made him feel "excessively tired." Combs then told him to take a nap, and when he regained consciousness, the rapper was on top of him, r*ping him. As he attempted to resist Combs, the rapper asked him to stop, adding: "I'm almost done."
The lawsuit also alleges that the Bad Boy Records owner later told John Doe that going to the police would make him look like an idiot, since he would never be able to substantiate his claims. Diddy's entourage later called Doe to threaten him further.
In a second lawsuit, the plaintiff alleged that he was given $2,500 in cash after being drugged and assaulted in a similar manner. A third lawsuit claimed that Combs and his associates took turns to s*xually assault him at a Hamptons party.
Per Daily Mail, Thomas Giuffra said about Diddy while filing the lawsuits:
"Combs is a rich, powerful public figure who was able to take advantage by drugging these men. After the assaults, he ensured their silence by threatening them and relying on their fear of his power."
The attorney continued:
"This is a long overdue opportunity for the victims to take the power back after carrying the burden of the assaults in silence for several years."
While Diddy is currently being held in the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Brooklyn, his legal team has denied the new allegations against the rap mogul, telling NBC News:
"These complaints are full of lies. We will prove them false and seek sanctions against every unethical lawyer who filed fictional claims against him."
Combs' trial for the federal criminal charges of s*x trafficking and racketeering is scheduled to begin on May 5, 2025.
