Rapper Young Thug was released after spending over 900 days in custody on a non-negotiated plea deal. This comes after he pleaded no contest to racketeering and leading a criminal street gang trial amid the Young Stoner Life trial.

Following his release, he took to X to share his first post, leading to a response from fellow singer Lil Baby. Young Thug tweeted on November 3,

“Wham let’s drop one on these rats peter.”

The post, which has gone viral and amassed over 14 million views as of writing this article, was directed at Wham, who also goes by Lil Baby. The rapper adopted the former moniker after teasing an album under the same name. He also has a song titled Wham Wham Wham. The musician also has the line “WHAM 4 PRESIDENT” written on his Instagram bio.

Per Reddit user u/Disastrous-Arrival19’s post on the r/LilBaby subreddit, Lil Baby has been calling himself “Wham” for years.

“He actually been calling himself Wham for like over 3 years he even got weed brand called “Wham.” I think it came from “wham wham wham b**ch im lil baby” line.” The post read.

Lil Baby then took to his Instagram stories on November 4 to share a picture of himself and addressed Young Thug.

What did Lil Baby tell Young Thug? The former addresses the latter following prison release

Lil Baby took to Instagram today to respond to Young Thug’s X post. He wrote:

“I missed you mf!! Welcome home my brudda ! Thank god you able To get back to the fam in good health and spirits ! Wish ya none but billions jack ! #whateverwhamsaygoes.”

Lil Baby did not reveal whether the two would be collaborating on projects in the future.

Many must have assumed that Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, also directed the aforementioned X post at Gunna, a YSL Records signee and Williams’ co-defendant, released from custody on an Alford plea. Netizens now believe Williams was calling Gunna a “rat” for getting out of the YSL trial on suspicious circumstances. Last year, in 2023, Gunna’s attorney, Steve Sadow, also took to Instagram to share that Gunna “did not snitch to get out of jail.”

Lil Baby has made it clear in recent years that he is not pleased with Gunna taking a plea deal. In his song Family Freestyle, Lil Baby rapped in 2023:

“Watch some n**gas take the plea in trial, I know that Slime ain’t happy.”

In an interview with XXL Magazine, Lil Baby said he does not see Young Thug, his label boss, as his “rap friends” but has also built a personal relationship with him. Wham said:

“He’s not like one of my rap friends. He’s one of my personal friends. We actually talk on the phone. Or if we in the same city, like one of them guys that I pull up on. So him being incarcerated, it be different for me. He ain’t like one of the rappers where I don’t see in years or I don’t talk to for real anyway. I really talk to him from a day to day.”

Meanwhile, Young Thug pleaded in court that he be allowed to interact with Gunna as they had professional obligations to meet, which the judge has since granted.

This comes after Williams was ordered to serve a 15-year probation, out of which he is not allowed to enter the metropolitan area of Atlanta for the first 10 years except for exemptions. He was also demanded to serve 100 hours of community service and banned from contacting his co-defendants and members of street gangs.
