As Kamala Harris lost to Donald Trump in the recent US presidential elections, popular rapper Cardi B wrote an open letter to the Vice President of the nation. As she penned down a thank you note for Kamala, Cardi B wrote:
“To Vice President Kamala, no matter what they’ve said to bring you down or belittle your run for the presidency, they can never say you didn’t run your race with honesty and with integrity! You really put up a fight against all the odds that were already stacked against you! You never accepted defeat as an option, which says so much about your strength and about your heart.”
As soon as the post went viral on social media, it sparked several mixed reactions from netizens. An X user, @PopBase, posted the note on the platform, where a social media user responded by saying:
“Who wrote this for her.”
Furthermore, others also reacted by mocking Cardi B for supporting Harris, as the comments read:
“She acting like she wasn’t one of the reasons Kamala lost,” wrote one X user.
“Kamala lost the moment Cardi B was involved,” added another.
“Your endorsement doesn't help Kamala to win this election!” mentioned one more social media user.
On the other hand, several others were appreciative of the singer, as they said:
“Cardi’s heartfelt support shows the impact Kamala has made!” added an X user on the post.
“No matter what y’all say cardi is a real one,” stated another.
“She has such a kinda soul shes is always for change,” mentioned a netizen.
“This may not mean much but I am so proud of you!”: Cardi B thanks Kamala Harris as the rapper penned down an emotional post for the Vice President of the country
With several celebrities and popular people extending their support to Kamala Harris in the US presidential elections, held on November 5, 2024, many were left devastated after Trump won the battle with 295 seats.
Cardi B, who was also saddened by the results of the election, penned down an emotional post for the Vice President, where she stated how proud she was of Harris. She said:
“You really wanted better for ALL of us! This may not mean much but I am so proud of you! No one has ever made me change my mind and you did! I never thought I would see the day that a woman of colour would be running for the President of the United States, but you have shown me, showed my daughters and women across the country that anything is possible.”
She concluded the note by thanking Harris for “being an example” and “being empowered,” calling her a “real example of what the American dream should be."
For the unversed, Cardi B showed up for the Vice President at her campaign rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, just a few days before the elections. During her speech endorsing Harris, she said:
“Kamala Harris joining the race changed my mind completely. I did not have faith in any candidates...until she said the things that I wanted to hear.”
It is worth noting that Kamala Harris won 226 electoral votes, including Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Minnesota, Illinois, New York, Hawaii, and many more. On the other hand, Trump, in the lead, won Montana, Texas, Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota, Louisiana, Michigan, and even Pennsylvania, among others.
