Playboi Carti's headlining set from Rolling Loud's 10th Anniversary show has gone viral across all social media platforms. The rapper teased multiple tracks from his highly anticipated third studio album, I AM MUSIC.
Taking the stage on Sunday evening (December 15), in Miami, Carti's set was live-streamed on Amazon Music and Twitch. Popular hip-hop internet personality, DJ Akademiks, took to X during his stream to state:
"We witnessing history.. Playboi Carti headlining a whole festival and PREVIEWING new sh*t, not even relying on hits. This n***a Goated"
A notable moment from the Opium CEO's live set was when he brought streamer Young Dabo out onto the stage while performing Sky from his 2020 sophomore studio album Whole Lotta Red.
According to YouTube Wiki, Dabo is a 17-year-old social media personality and content creator. He primarily publishes reaction videos to popular hip-hop music and artists, developing a strong fanbase who appreciate the, often emotional, reactions to albums and new music releases.
Young Dabo first went viral in 2022 over a reaction video to Frank Ocean's Blonde, titled "EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER! | Frank Ocean Blonde (Full Album)," generating over 3 million views on YouTube. He currently has over 600,000 subscribers on YouTube.
While Dabo has expressed his support and appreciation for several artists like Tyler, The Creator, there have been multiple instances where the streamer has highlighted his strong liking toward Atlanta rapper Playboi Carti.
From his YouTube bio, which reads "I love carti" to using the official cover art for Whole Lotta Red in recent videos, Young Dabo is seemingly a major part of Carti's massive fanbase.
Last December, Playboi Carti shouted him out on social media for reacting to the surprise release of UR THE MOON, reportedly dropped to build anticipation for I AM MUSIC.
Playboi Carti preview's upcoming album 'I AM MUSIC' at Rolling Loud's 10th Anniversary
Before Playboi Carti headlined Rolling Loud on Sunday night, festival founder and Co-CEO Tariq Cherif took to Instagram to suggest that the Opium CEO would potentially be previewing tracks from his highly anticipated I AM MUSIC album.
"When I got back from Thailand, Playboi Carti called me... We started talking about the album. He's like, 'Yo I'm play that sh*t at Rolling Loud. You saw him post it, I don't know what he gonna do, he told you he's gonna play that sh*t," Tariq stated.
Tariq claimed that Playboi had previewed the album over FaceTime and alluded to a potential feature from a popular male artist.
Carti reportedly took the stage at 10:45 pm EST and performed multiple tracks from his discography which included records from Whole Lotta Red and Die Lit. Popular tracks that were played include his recent collaboration with The Weeknd, Timeless, and his No.1 hit with Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign, Carnival.
As suggested by Tariq, the rapper would then tease his upcoming album by previewing and performing tracks from I AM MUSIC throughout his Rolling Loud set.
Although the titles for many of the songs are yet to be revealed, based on leaks and fan speculation, the previewed records included tracks produced by F1LTHY and Metro Boomin.
The rapper kept his audience entertained with electric visuals and energetic performances, as seen in clips uploaded by X users, where one individual claimed Carti was performing "upside down like a vampire".
Playboi Carti closed out Rolling Loud's 10th Anniversary with an unreleased record, supposedly set to be included on the tracklist for his third studio album, titled Drugs Got Me Numb.
According to HNHH, Playboi Carti has been teasing I AM MUSIC for the entirety of 2024, with the album reportedly scheduled for release before the year ends.
In September, Carti stated that Ye would be producing the LP and announced that I AM MUSIC would be a solo project, void of any features. A new album from the Atlanta rapper will mark his first full-length project in over four years.
