Chris Brown is reportedly facing a $50 million lawsuit from four men who have alleged that they were assaulted backstage by the R&B musician and his crew during his July 19 concert at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

As per the court documents obtained by Variety, the four plaintiffs have demanded financial compensation and a temporary restraining order against Chris Brown and his associates, including rappers Yella Beezy, Sinko Ceej, and Hood Boss, as well as the tour promoter Live Nation.

The alleged victims, namely Larry Parker, Joseph Lewis, Charles Bush, and Da Marcus Powell have claimed that Brown and his men “brutally and severely beat” them over a past dispute. The complaint claimed that the violence was “unprovoked” and included “Brown and his entourage surrounding the Plaintiffs, throwing chairs at them, and repeatedly kicking, stomping, and beating them.”

The suit, which was filed on July 22 in Harris County District Court in Texas, mentioned that the entire incident was “participated in and directed by” the singer, rendering all the alleged victims “severely injured.”

Exploring the details of the latest lawsuit against Chris Brown

Last Friday, Chris Brown performed at Fort Worth, Texas, as part of his ongoing 11:11 Tour. At the end of his performance, four men were reportedly invited to the backstage VIP area to meet the singer, who arrived half an hour late. Regardless, one of the men, Charles Bush, allegedly approached Brown to congratulate him for an amazing concert.

However, at this point, one of Chris’ crew members seemingly reminded him that he and Bush were “beefing” in the past. Realizing the same, Chris Brown allegedly stated, “Oh yeah, we were. What’s up, n*gga? I don’t forget sh*t,” before proceeding to hit Bush in the chest while he was trying to leave through the hallway.

Seven to ten others allegedly joined Brown, including Hood Boss, who reportedly picked up a chair and aimed it at Bush’s head. Sinko Ceej allegedly stomped on Bush’s chest while he was on the ground, injuring him in the process.

When Charles Bush’s friends tried to escape the scene, Chris Brown and his men allegedly jumped them one by one, starting with Larry Parker, who was punched in the face and chest and kicked in the head for several minutes by Yella Beezy, while trying to flee through a staircase.

Later, Da Marcus Powell and Joseph Lewis were reportedly hit in the shoulder and chest, respectively. All four of the alleged victims were badly injured and ended up in a medical facility where they underwent treatment. Larry Parker was reportedly hospitalized and would “need to undergo extensive medical treatment for the damages he suffered in the attack, including head injuries.”

In the wake of the alleged altercation, the four men have now filed a civil suit against Chris Brown and his crew, seeking $50 million in compensatory and punitive damages alongside requesting temporary restraining orders against all the defendants.

Restitution for “pecuniary losses, pain and suffering, disfigurement, mental anguish, and past, present, and future medical expenses” has also been demanded. So far, neither Brown, his associates, nor the tour promoter Live Nation has addressed the matter.

Meanwhile, the lawyer Tony Buzbee, representing the four alleged victims, told Variety:

“No one should have to endure what these clients endured. We will seek the maximum amount of damages allowed by law for this egregious conduct.”

Notably, the latest lawsuit mentions Chris Brown’s past legal disputes, including the much-publicized domestic violence charges filed by his former girlfriend and pop icon Rihanna in 2009.

Back then, Brown pled guilty to the charges and was sentenced to five years in probation, community service, and mandatory counseling.

Besides this, Chris Brown has been arrested and sued multiple times. For instance, his former manager, Michael Guirguis, accused him of assault and battery in 2016 and even filed a lawsuit. Likewise, in 2012, he was involved in a brawl with Canadian rapper Drake at a New York City club.

In 2017, his former girlfriend, Karreuche Tran, also got a five-year restraining order against him for making alleged threats to her life.
