Famous American rapper Denzel Curry promised his fans that he would compensate them for canceling the Korn (also known as KoЯn) London show at the last minute. It was announced that he had to withdraw from performing at the show since he had lost his voice.

The rapper took to social media and said he would ‘make it up’ at the Reading and Leeds Festival. Sharing a story on his Instagram page on August 11, he wrote,

“To all my fans in London I apologize but I won’t be able to perform tonight due to losing my voice. I think everyone knows how crazy I go when performing but the back to back shows have taken a toll on me, I don’t want to risk further injury to it or give a half a** show…i’ll make it up to you at Reading & Leeds…that much i do promise.- Big Ultra”

Denzel Curry was about to perform in London after his Loathe, Wargasm, and Spiritbox performances. However, he was forced to step back due to a vocal injury. Reportedly, the rapper contemplated whether to take to the stage or not and ultimately decided not to perform to prevent further injury.

It was the American nu-metal band Korn’s first live show in London in seven years. The band opened with Rotting In Vain, followed by Here To Stay, A.D.I.D.A.S, and others. Korn is also reported to release new musical pieces this year.

Curry to perform at Reading and Leeds after canceling the Korn show

Reading and Leeds is a two-site musical festival that takes place at two different locations but has the same line-up for both. The 2024 Reading and Leeds Festival will be happening from August 21 to 25 at Richfield Avenue and Bramham Park. As per the itinerary, Denzel Curry is all set to take over 'The Chevron Stage’ on Friday, August 23.

Along with Denzel, the annual festival will witness acts from artists namely Kenny Beats, Beabadoobee, Kenya Grace, Nia Archives, Neck Deep, David Kushner, and more this year.

The popular musical event began in 1961 with only the Reading Festival. By 1999, it gained so much popularity that it had to add a second venue in Leeds. The festival showcases an array of musical genres like punk, rock, indie, and metal among others.

Back in 2019, Curry injured his leg during a stage dive act at a show in Dublin. However, the injury did not stop the rapper from performing. He went on to perform at London’s Wireless Festival in a wheelchair.

Earlier this year, Denzel Curry announced that his upcoming album, ULTRAGROUND, will be released this year. This album comes three years after his fifth one, Melt My Eyez See Your Future. Curry’s upcoming album will have 15 dedicated tracks. In addition to traditional hip-hop, the album will include influences from jazz, poetry, and neo-soul.
