Recently, Joe Budden revealed on his self-titled podcast that Drake had not spoken to him since his beef with Kendrick Lamar came to an end. In the latest episode of his podcast, which was released over the weekend, he also claimed that he was dissatisfied with the musician over his actions.
While speaking to DJ Akademiks, the social media personality said, “You know the funniest thing about this? I’ve been talking to this n**ga throughout the whole beef.” Budden then remarked:
“That n**ga ain’t speak to me since that battle ended. He ain’t hit me at all since that battle ended and I don’t like it. I don’t like that. You should keep the same energy.”
Many were exasperated by Budden’s sentiments and showed no sympathy towards him. One reaction to his latest claims read:
Many were unimpressed to see the internet personality expect Drizzy to be in contact with him. Several netizens opined that Joe Budden was too keen on wanting Drizzy’s attention. Some tweets read:
“Day 19 of talking about Drake the majority of the show,” one netizen said.
“I have never seen this type of Obsession before Joe Budden should get a grip at this point,” another X user said.
“JB should just admit to being in love with Drake atp. This is PATHETIC and super cringe! What do y’all have to talk about if you aren’t friends? The battle is over. You and most ppl think Kendrick won. What else need to be discussed with the likes of you,” one internet user opined.
Joe Budden’s remarks come after Kendrick Lamar topped numerous music charts with his Drake-diss track Not Like Us. Reacting to Budden’s comments, other tweets read:
“Get you a girl who thinks about you as much as Joe Bidden thinks about Drake,” a netizen said.
“Hip hop is turning into a soap opera lmao,” a platform user stated.
“Only Joe can make Drake’s life about Joe. It doesn’t occur to Joe that now that the battle has ended, Drake has gone back to, I don’t know, running his businesses, planning his future, being with fam, and dealing with the series of crimes that happened outside of his house,” another X user said.
The Canadian rapper had not publicly addressed Budden’s comments at the time of writing this article. Meanwhile, other reactions read:
“Prolly because Joe running his mouth about how they talk behind the scenes on a popular podcast lol, where’s the anonymity,” another X user said.
“Probably cause he was talking down on the n**ga every second of that battle and even after it,” a netizen said.
Joe Budden claims Kendrick Lamar won the battle with Drake
Although Budden did not speculate about why Drizzy was avoiding him, he did claim that Kendrick Lamar won the rap battle with the Certified Lover Boy. Budden noted that K. Dot’s lyrics were much better than Drizzy’s. He also said:
“If I’m battling you, I need to have my options ready for all the variables. Drake didn’t. And if you feel that way, then when I was telling you to stop saying that I’m outside looking for the n**ga that saying he been outside.”
After dancing to K. Dot’s Not Like Us on the podcast, Budden went on to defend Drizzy by saying that his “legacy is already kinda cemented.”
He went on to opine that Champagne Papi was not rapping to his potential; nonetheless, he had released numerous chart-topping albums, including Take Care, So Far Gone, and Views, among others.
