Fat Trel, also known as Martrel Reeves, was recently involved in another legal issue after being reportedly arrested in Washington, D.C. The entire moment was recorded on surveillance footage, which is now going viral on social media.

The clip of the rapper's arrest was shared by Beatrice Peterson, a reporter for ABC on August 28, 2024, and the post reads:

"D.C. rapper Fat Trel was arrested by Capitol Police on Wednesday after allegedly running a red light on Capitol Hill, Capitol Police told me."

Beatrice also elaborated on the circumstances leading to the arrest, stating that Trel was allegedly stopped by the police officers after running a red light. The reporter disclosed the artist was "under the influence" at the time of being arrested.

Peterson additionally stated that there was an open container with Trel alongside an invalid license, leading to further complications. The viral clip, which runs for 30 seconds, features Trel being checked by the cops with police cars standing near him. He was seemingly undergoing a sobriety test, but further details are yet to be revealed.

Apart from this, there is no information available on where Trel is being held right now.

Fat Trel was previously in prison for almost a year after his arrest in 2021

While the 34-year-old's recent legal issue has created a lot of headlines, he has had a few more confrontations with law and order in the past. Although the history dates back to 2016, he was arrested on charges of Revocation of Suspended Sentence and Probation in 2021.

The counts emerged from another arrest that happened in 2018 and the reasons for the same have not been disclosed until today. Fat Trel was eventually sent to prison for one and half years in 2022 and he expressed disappointment with the same through a social media post, which has been deleted now. He wrote:

"It is with heaviness in my heart that I must inform my fans and supporters that the justice system has failed in being objective in my case."

In an interview with Revolt the same year, Trel addressed the problems with the judicial system, referring to the marijuana charges imposed on him in 2016. He also spoke about the aftermath of the open letter he wrote on his arrest and said,

"A lot of people been coming to visit me, as far as prison reform companies and non-profit organizations. I don't want to name anybody specifically, [but] when we cover more ground I don't have no problem doing that at all."

He also stated that the sentencing given by the judge was not something that he deserved and his fans and legal team also mentioned the same. He said that the judge "went too hard" and his attorneys were doing their best to get him out of prison.

Fat Trel revealed the soundtrack of his upcoming album Boosa's Keeper through Instagram on August 30, 2024. The new project has 16 tracks that include Smoke, Can't Stop Stuntin', Back Home, Big Deal, and more.
