Grammy Award Winning rapper Killer Mike will now breathe a sigh of relief as the prosecutors in the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office have decided not to file a case against him. This is because the authorities stated that the rapper has agreed to do community service with a non-profit organization of his choice.

TMZ reported that Ivor Pine, a spokesperson for the L.A. City Attorney’s Office spoke about Killer Mike, AKA Michael Santiago Render’s case, and said:

“Mr. Render has successfully completed the Office’s Hearing process, including a community service requirement that was imposed. We have no further comment at this time.”

The charges against him stem from an incident that took place on February 4, 2024, following a spat with a security guard outside the Crypto.com Arena, where the Grammys were being held. At the time, Killer Mike was instantly detained by the police.

Killer Mike is best known for his songs The Whole World, Legend Has It, Untitled, RUN, Down by Law, Ooh La La, Exit 9 and many more.

“There was some confusion” - Killer Mike’s statement revisited as the rapper was arrested and booked for misdemeanour battery

After the February 4, 2024 incident that took place during the Grammy Awards, Killer Mike was arrested and booked for misdemeanour battery. He later issued a statement clarifying the incident, as he said:

“As you can imagine, there was a lot going and there was some confusion around which door my team and I should enter. We experienced an over-zealous security guard, but my team and I have the upmost confidence that I will ultimately be cleared of all wrongdoing.”

Furthermore, he also stated that the “backstage was crowded,” as he called the whole incident as “water under the bridge.” He also explained how the “winners were exuberant,” and just then the “security got a little overzealous.”

Many publications like TMZ also reported that the spat between Killer Mike and the security guard took place as he attempted to bypass the security when he was asked to show his tickets at the entry point.

The entire fiasco took place inside the Grammys 2024 venue when Mike had just won three awards in the categories Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Album. Furthermore, this was not Mike’s first award as he has been awarded a Grammy before in 2003 when he won in the Best Rap Performance By a Duo or Group category.

The rapper was also nominated in 2018, for his album, Chase Me, in the Best Rap Song category, however, he did not win at the time.

The rapper released his first ever studio album in 2003, called Monster, and thereafter, his other albums like I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind, I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind II, Pledge, R.A.P. Music and Michael have also been superhit amongst the masses.

On the other hand, as the news about Mike not being charged started going viral on social media, fans and followers of the rapper started to celebrate as they were ecstatic to hear the news.

Meanwhile, the rapper or his representatives have not yet spoken up on the latest developments.
