Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., a.k.a. Lil Wayne, has reportedly been dating his private chef, LeahAngelie Murphy, as per TMZ Hip Hop, and she has gone viral online. According to the article published on Friday, October 18, 2024, Murphy met the rapper last year after his previous chef, Morghan Medlock, filed a lawsuit against him for wrongful termination.
For the unversed, in December 2022, Medlock sued Weezy, alleging wrongful termination, retaliation, and unlawful practices. She claimed he fired her earlier that year after she left her scheduled shift in Vegas to tend to her injured 10-year-old, who was hospitalized.
Lil Wayne settled Morghan Medlock's lawsuit on March 8, 2024
In her civil complaint, Morghan Medlock explained that she was traveling with Lil Wayne to Las Vegas over the Memorial Day weekend. However, at some point during the trip, she was informed of her 10-year-old son's hospitalization due to a head injury.
Per a March 2024 report by XXL, Morghan wanted to head home immediately but was delayed due to Weezy allegedly smoking on the aircraft. At this point, the former chef chose to book a separate flight and rush home and claimed that she informed the rapper's assistant of the same.
Medlock, who had worked for Weezy for two years at that point, had hoped they would understand but she was fired instead.
Fox 11, quoting Medlock's lawsuit, wrote:
"Though she was well aware of her job tasks and schedule and anticipated return date to Los Angeles, Ms. Medlock made her best efforts to coordinate her return to Los Angeles in conjunction with her job tasks and (Lil Wayne’s) scheduled return to Los Angeles, which would have allowed her to then go directly to care for her son."
Morghan claimed that despite informing them, she kept getting calls from Lil Wayne's team asking if she quit. She alleged that she clearly responded that she had not quit.
After resolving matters at home, when she tried to get to work, she was told that she had been let go. The suit claimed she received a message from Weezy eventually, which read, "Tell Chef Morghan this isn't going to work."
The rapper's former chef stated that her firing violated California laws that do not allow termination if someone misses work to care for their sick or injured child. She demanded $500,000 in damages.
However, in March 2024, the pair settled their dispute with Medlock filing paperwork informing the court of the settlement. The terms of their agreement were not made public.
Per TMZ Hip Hop, LeahAngelie Murphy, a private chef and influencer from Los Angeles, started working for the rapper sometime in 2023. Per the publication, Murphy has allegedly been accompanying Wayne on his tours, including his Welcome to Tha Carter tour last May.
Murphy shared a post on Instagram on May 15, 2023, commemorating the first time she worked on a tour, and described the experience as "one of the hardest things (she had) done as a private chef."
According to her social media posts, LeahAngelie celebrated her 35th birthday with her friends and Weezy. However, neither Lil Wayne nor LeahAngelie Murphy have officially confirmed their relationship.
