"Why must yall be so dumb?" — Cardi B shuts down fan speculation that she is bleaching her skin while pregnant

American rapper Cardi B found herself amidst an internet debate after she posted a photo of her and rapper Jatavia Shakara Johnson, also known as JT on August 21 on her X handle. The rapper is going through her third pregnancy.

In the post, JT could be seen touching the WAP singer's baby bump. However, after she shared the photo, a particular X user reposted it with the caption:

"Has Cardi been bleaching her skin?"

Frustrated at the comment, the singer reacted that she did not bleach the skin but rather she was anemic. Her reply also mentioned that the pregnancy has been taking a toll on her body. She urged her fans to be rational in making such comments.

“Bleaching while pregnant? Why must yall be so dumb ? Actually NO ! I’m pregnant I’m slightly anemic ,this baby suckin all the energy off my body to the point I’m pale,eyes sunken ,veins green ASF,can’t tan under the sun cause I get hot super fast and dizzy ….PLEAE STOP THINKIN WITH YOUR AS*****!”, Cardi B wrote on X.

Cardi B and JT had been in an internet feud earlier this year. Nicki Minaj was also dragged in between their dispute. Despite the ongoing drama, it seems unclear what Cardi B’s recent X post was trying to imply as fans speculated that the two might have reconciled.

Earlier this month, netizens trolled the I Like It singer for gaining weight, to which she countered by revealing her pregnancy news.

Cardi B’s pregnancy news came after she announced separation from Offset

The rapper is a mother to son Wave and daughter Kulture and has been married to rapper Offset for six years. According to People, the couple had first filed for divorce in 2020 but called it off later. However, on July 21, she reportedly filed for a divorce from her husband, and the very next day, she shared her pregnancy news on Instagram.

A representative of hers confirmed to People that the reason behind her divorce had nothing to do with the cheating rumors but rather it was something that had built up over time. Reportedly, the singer also appealed for the primary custody of her children.

“With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion!...”, Cardi B wrote in her pregnancy announcement post.

As reported by People, the rapper and her husband had an unstable relationship since their marriage in 2017. Their relationship reportedly began after the duo met through an industry mutual. In an interview piece published by Elle in August 2020, she said she was aware that her relationship entailed a lot of drama. However, there was also love, passion, and importantly, trust.
