Jaden Smith reveals more details about his new song and the music industry

As mentioned, the rapper spoke to Complex Music on Saturday, where he addressed his new EP. The project includes four singles in the soundtrack and opened up on his song D.U.M.B., which was released earlier this month. He explained the meaning of the track by saying that it refers to "deep underground military bases."

Jaden Smith also addressed a lyric from his single which referred to Young Thug as it says "Thugger said he's proud of me, free slimey." Smith described Thug as the "coolest person ever", adding that he also received a diamond ring from the latter.

Smith stated that he and Thug used to go out every day and Thug also missed a few of his shows since "he was dealing with some things." He further stated:

"He used to always come into my dressing room and be like, "Bro, there's no girls in here." And I'd be like, "Oh, you know, I'm just… Uh…" And he'd be like, "Bro, I haven't seen you with any girls! I'm really worried." And I would go and hang out with people just so that he would see me, so he wouldn't worry."

The 26-year-old also said that he was different during his teenage years, adding that he was scared to do a lot of things. Furthermore, he spoke up about how he felt when he got a chance to see the photos and videos from that time.

"I can't believe that I was swagging 12 years ago. It's crazy. I can't believe it. I can't imagine what everybody else was thinking, seeing me at whatever age I was doing with whatever the hell I was doing. F*cking hilarious. It's so funny."

Jaden Smith also mentioned that although he had a lot of fun in those days, he was going through a lot of "sad things" in his life.

He addressed the things that need a change in the music industry, saying that people have everything that is needed to "create some really dope stuff" and most of them are already doing it. Jaden Smith additionally stated that he expects the artists to have control over the work they are doing and can soon step out of their comfort zone.
