Former American Idol winner Scotty McCreery stopped his concert at the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo, Colo on August 24 after seeing a man in the audience allegedly assaulting a woman.
In a video postted by Jessica Rosario on Facebook, Scotty can be seen halting his concert as he began It Matters to Her performance for over two minutes and can be heard saying in the video,
"Right here, that's a lady you just hit, sir. Absolutely not, who just hit the lady? Police? Security? Is she okay? Get the heck out of here."
He then called the act unacceptable and said,
"On God's green earth. At a Scotty McCreery show? What are you doing? Y'all let the cop know who hit the lady. That's absolutely unacceptable."
Concertgoer Jessica Rosario exclusively then told PEOPLE that Scotty was talking about his wife and as he started to sing he noticed a man who allegedly hit a woman and stopped the show to remove him by the security.

Country singer Scotty McCreery while singing his wife's favourite song It Matters to Her during a performance at the Colorado State Fair called out a man who allegedly hit a woman in the audience. After asking the audience to point out the man and calling the cops to have him removed, Scotty called him "the definition of a coward."
"We got 'em? We good down there? Whoever you are, that's the definition of a coward, hitting a lady. Get the heck out of here."
Scotty then went back to resume his set.
Olga Robak, the director of communications at The Colorado Department of Agriculture while noting the incident told PEOPLE,
"We can confirm that an incident took place at the Scotty McCreery concert where a man assaulted a woman and the performer stopped the show. This incident is still under investigation and we cannot comment further."
Other reported incidents of assault during the concerts
In June 2023, Manchester Police appealed for information after a woman was allegedly s*xually assaulted at Harry Styles' Manchester concert.
In a statement by the Greater Manchester Police, the woman was approached from behind a man who allegedly s*xually assaulted her at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground at around 8:30 pm in June 2022.
Singer Monica in July 2023, at the inaugural Riverfront Music Festival in Detroit stopped her set to to stop an alleged assault in the audience. In a clip that went viral on social media, Monica can be seen stepping down from the stage at Hart Plaza to address a man. The singer shouted before demanding security to intervene,
"You don't hit no f**kin' lady like that," Monica said.
Monica then took to the stage and apologized to the fans. She explained that she allegedly saw the man punch a woman in the face and lost her temper. She added that it triggered her.
Scotty has not yet commented on the incident.
