In an unapologetic response to online critics, T-Pain has addressed the backlash surrounding his latest collaboration with Mark Zuckerberg.

On November 13, 2024, American rapper T-Pain addressed the backlash he received for his collaboration with tech mogul Mark Zuckerberg in a video posted to his Instagram account. In the post, he questioned why some people are unable to appreciate or be happy for someone else's joy —

"Why y'all hate happiness so much?" T-Pain said.

The reactions that the Florida artist received on X reflected a wide range of opinions. Some users suggested combining the two personalities in one collaboration seemed almost criminal, while others labeled it "cringe."

Additionally, many commenters expressed that they were unprepared for such an unexpected partnership —

"Mark Zuckerberg and T Pain in the same sentence should be a crime 😭," one commented.
"He is such a disingenuous cringe," another on X.
"This is not a sentence I was prepared to read at all 😂," a netizen on X.

The collaborative song, a remix of Lil Jon's Get Low titled Z-Pain, was released on November 13, 2024.

T-Pain responds to critics of Mark Zuckerberg and his collaboration

On Wednesday, T-Pain took to his Instagram account, posting three detailed videos where he clapped back at critics criticizing his collaboration with Mark Zuckerberg. Hours after releasing the song Z-Pain, T expressed on Instagram that it seems impossible for some people to embrace fun —

"It is impossible for some people to have fun. I've learned how to not worry about what y'all are talking about," T began to say.

In the second video, T-Pain further expressed his belief that some people are unhappy to see others doing something meaningful for their loved ones. Toward the end of the video, the rapper urged netizens to step outside and "look for birds," thus encouraging them to focus on more positive and lighthearted pursuits —

"Y'all don't like when people do wholesome things, y'all don't like when people do stuff for their wives... Shut the hell up! Shut up! Go outside and look at birds," Pain said.

Following this, some people responded saying that they did not have time for such advice. In response, the rapper posted a final video on Instagram, calling out those individuals for wasting their time on their phones instead of engaging in something more productive —

"What the f**k you doing on your phone right now, looking at T-Pain? How the f**k did you just see all three of these videos? ... You could have been actually doing this shit you said you ain't have time for," the rapper said.

The collaborative song Z-Pain by Mark Zuckerberg and T-Pain is a tribute to Zuckerberg's wife, created to celebrate their anniversary. On November 13, 2024, Zuckerberg shared a series of photos on Instagram, recalling that Get Low by Lil Jon was the song playing when he first met his wife in college.

He further explained that they listen to the song every year on their anniversary, and this year, he asked the rapper to create their version of it as a special tribute —

""Get Low" was playing when I first met Priscilla at a college party, so every year, we listen to it on our dating anniversary. This year I worked with @tpain on our own version of this lyrical masterpiece. Sound on for the track and also available on Spotify. Love you P ❤️," Zuckerberg wrote.

Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan married on May 19, 2012. This year, the duo marked their 12th anniversary together. The couple has three children: Maxima Chan Zuckerberg, August Chan Zuckerberg, and Aurelia Chan Zuckerberg.

Mark Zuckerberg is yet to reveal how or why he chose T-Pain for the tribute collaborative song, nor has T-Pain commented on the matter. Additionally, the Z-Pain track is available to stream on Spotify.

Currently, Zuckerberg has not responded to the online comments and reactions or the videos posted by the Florida rapper either.
