DJ Envy has been trending on social media after sharing a video on his official Instagram page on October 31, 2024. The clip, which has been deleted now, led to a lot of criticism of the record producer on different platforms since it featured his young daughter, Brooklyn, dressing up as Lil' Kim for Halloween.
Notably, the post featured Envy's daughter wearing an outfit that was very similar to the one worn by Kim in the music video of her single Crush On You. The costume included a risqué red bodysuit alongside wigs and furs. Envy was also speaking to Kim on FaceTime at the same time and the latter said:
"Oh my gosh! Are you guys taking a picture?"

"No we're doing a video. She about to do the whole video."
Envy asked for Kim's approval in the clip and she agreed to the same. Envy's daughter was also spotted lip-syncing to the lyrics from the song and she covered her mouth whenever something explicit came up in between.
Crush On You came out back in 1996 and it was included in the soundtrack of her first album, Hard Core. The album also grabbed a spot on the US Billboard 200 and remained on top of other charts.
A glimpse of DJ Envy's video was obtained by The Neighborhood Talk and they posted the same via Instagram. Netizens took to the comments section to share their reactions and one of them wrote:
"Wildly inappropriate."
People specifically addressed Envy's daughter's outfit in the clip, with a user stating that as a father, he wouldn't allow his child to do the same. Another person described it as one of the "most embarrassing cringing thing" he has ever seen in his life.
DJ Envy shares another post on the occasion of Halloween
As mentioned, the New York City native's latest clip posted through social media attracted a lot of criticism on different platforms. However, he was seemingly not affected by any of those reactions since he shared a few more posts on X (formerly Twitter) on the occasion of Halloween.
The first one included a video as a tribute to the late singer and actress Aaliyah. Envy's daughter London appeared in the clip where she was spotted performing like Aaliyah in the latter's single, One In A Million, wearing a black outfit. DJ Envy wrote below the video:
"Happy Halloween…Pt2 RIP Aaliyah."
The video was even shared through Instagram and it received a similar response to the previous post. A majority of the users addressed London's age, saying that it was weird for her to appear in such videos. While reactions towards both the videos have continued on different platforms, Envy is yet to share a response to the same.
Apart from Brooklyn and London, Envy is a father of four more children including Madison, Logan, Jaxson, and Peyton. He married Gia Casey in 2001 and the duo have been hosting The Casey Crew podcast for a long time, as per The Sun.
