On June 28, 2024, Megan Thee Stallion released her third studio album Megan. Two tracks from the album, Figueroa and Rattle seemingly diss the rapper Nicki Minaj. A few particular lines of Rattle say:

"Damn, b**ch tit been four years / Worry 'bout your man and your kid/ Your life must be borin' as f**k if you’re still reminiscin' 'bout s**t that we did."

Social media users are, however, divided, wondering whether Megan meant the lines for Nicki or her former best friend Kelsey Nicole. Four years ago, Megan collaborated with Cardi B for WAP, which was a year after she joined with Nicki for Hot Girl Summer.

Megan Thee Stallion seemingly responds after having a heated beef with Nicki Minaj in the beginning of the year

The feud first started after Megan Thee Stallion was shot and the trial for the incident took place. Post trial, Nicki Minaj released Red Ruby Da Sleeze, which is considered to be the first diss track in this beef. Minaj takes shots at Megan in the track, and the latter did not respond until the beginning of the year with Hiss.

In January, Megan made an appearance on The Breakfast Club and said that Hiss was dedicated to anybody who would use her name to gain fame. While she didn't specifically take Nicki's name, it was speculated that she was the one referenced in the track.

Variety reported that in January 2024, with the release of Nicki Minaj's Big Foot, the beef between her and Megan Thee Stallion seemed to have heated up even more. The track was apparently a response to Megan's Hiss, which had lines that read:

"These h*es don’t be mad at Megan, these h*es mad at Megan’s Law"

In Rattle, Megan Thee Stallion began the track with the lines:

"Ain't got no tea on me, this h* think she TMZ / Hmm / I mean, the sooner you accept that I'm that b**ch / The better your life will be."

While Megan Thee Stallion addressed her fallout with Nicki Minaj in Rattle, she shed light on how Minaj brought out artists like Bia, JT, and Akbar V, during her Pink Friday 2 world tour in April. She rapped on the track,

"I wanted everybody right here with me, but it was my fault being too friendly / I was thinking everything’s all good, but the whole time you was my enemy"

AllHipHop reported that the recent track Rattle seemed to pick up from where Hiss had left off. Fans are eager to know what would happen next and if there would be any further response from the other end.

The album Megan is the first one that Megan Thee Stallion launched under her independent label Hot Girl Productions. Back in October 2023, she posted a teaser of her then-upcoming album, where she put a caption that read:

"Just as a snake sheds its skin, we must shed our past, over and over again."

The tracks Cobra, Hiss, and Boa from Megan have all made it to the US Billboard Hot 100, with Hiss being at the top.
