Many fans were left disappointed after Nicki Minaj's Saturday show in Dublin. The rapper arrived at the concert about an hour and a half late in the city where she was performing for the first time after 2015. The show, which was a part of Nicki's Pink Friday 2 World Tour, was supposed to be for 2 hours but ended up being for only 45 minutes.
The concertgoers, who further had to stand in the rain waiting for Nicki, expressed displeasure on social media. A fan commented on the video posted by the singer on her Instagram,
"Worst gig ever, arrived on stage at 9.50, kept fans waiting in the lashings of rain, proceeded to have loads of length costume changes, lots of fans left disappointed."
While many fans criticized the rapper for being late, many still praised her for her performance.
Nicki Minaj's recent Pink Friday 2 Tour had been in a chaotic stage after she canceled and rescheduled shows
Nicki Minaj's latest arrival at the show in Dublin was not the only instance when fans got disappointed with her approach towards a concert. Shortly after that, she canceled a show in Romania, citing safety concerns. According to The Independent, the cancelation was made barely a few hours before the scheduled time of the show.
Billboard reported that the canceled show was supposed to take place on July 7 at Romania's SAGA Festival. The rapper reportedly claimed that her security team warned her of potential issues that might happen due to a protest apparently planned on July 8 in Bucharest. On Sunday, she tweeted,
"Out of concern for the well-being of our team and myself, I have been advised by my security detail not to travel to Romania’s festival tonight due to safety concerns regarding protests in the area."
The festival organizers further confirmed the cancelation as well, according to Rolling Stone. They also stated that the decision had nothing to do with them or the SAGA Festival itself. In the statement, they wrote,
"It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce Nicki Minaj has just cancelled her performance due to concerns for her and her team’s well-being in Romania… This has nothing to do with SAGA, and is beyond our powers."
The incident that happened in Dublin was, however, not the first time.
In April, Nicki Minaj had a concert in Montreal, where she was about three hours late. Concertgoers expressed their anger even then, further claiming that the artist's own DJ, too, played the wrong setlist, prompting her to get off stage shortly. Nicki reportedly blamed airline delays for her coming to the concert late.
