XXXTentacion’s killer, Michael Boatwright, allegedly released a statement where he refused to apologize, stating that he is “not this evil person.” As posted by DJ Akademiks on X, Michael, who continues to remain in the prison, stated:
"Y'all just judge me off this one thing y'all know bout me but y'all don't even know the truth behind all this, I'm not this evil person that everybody think I am and nobody even know me as a person y'all believe in everything u see on social media, I'm not sorry for nothing I did. #itsstillfreeme."
For the unversed, XXXTentacion was killed on June 18, 2018. At the time of his death, the rapper was 20 years old. XXXTentacion was fatally shot after being robbed in his car by Michael Boatwright and three other men, Trayvon Newsome, Dedrick Williams, and Robert Allen.
Allen pleaded guilty to robbery. He entered a plea deal and testified against the others.
It is yet to be confirmed if the statement posted by DJ Akademiks was really by Michael Boatwright, as he is currently in prison. Boatwright was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole, with another 30 years in prison for other charges. However, the alleged post continues to make headlines.
Michael Boatwright previously mocked XXXTentacion’s five-year-old son on social media: More controversies explored
Michael Boatwright has been in the news for several controversies related to XXXTentacion’s family after the rapper’s demise.
As per Hip Hop DX, Boatwright mocked the deceased rapper’s five-year-old son on social media. He shared an Instagram story in which he was seen walking around the house with pictures of his late father. Michael added crying laughing emojis to the story as he reshared them on his handle.
The scandal did not just end there. The story was followed by another post, which was a screenshot of the views of the story, which had the name of the late rapper’s son’s mother, Jenesis Sanchez, in the list.
Adding to the post, Boatwright wrote:
“She watchin.”
While social media users were left infuriated by Boatwright’s posts, several others also questioned how he is being able to post on social media since he was in prison at the time. However, several social media users speculated that it might be someone else using Boatwright’s account.
