Kendrick Lamar's upcoming performance at the Super Bowl LIX this year is generating significant excitement among fans. On January 26, 2025, an ad for the rapper's show was dropped as part of promotional activities conducted by the NFL and Apple Music, grabbing much attention on social media.

With the ad's release fans started speculating that Lamar will also perform his diss track Not Like Us at the event. The song came out in May 2024, when Lamar and Drake engaged in a public feud and released multiple singles targeted at each other. Not Like Us was able to grab a spot on the Billboard charts at the time of release.

Notably, the instrumental of Not Like Us was played during the NFC Championship game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders on Sunday. Before the ad was shown on a big screen, Fox football broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt was heard saying:

"59 Halftime show, catch Kendrick Lamar at the top of his game this February 9th on Fox."

The ad video then started playing where Lamar was spotted walking and ended with the title of the event which reads Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. On the other hand, netizens have shared their reactions to the ad on X (formerly Twitter) after the video went viral.

Kendrick Lamar's fans were spotted expressing their excitement to witness him performing the track at the upcoming event, as one of them wrote:

"Yeah he's definitely playing that song lol."

Similar responses continued from the artist's supporters in the comments section.

"It's going to be so good," a user wrote on X.
"It's his only hit, so I'd expect him to play this song 8 times in a row," another netizen stated on X.
"All The Stars live is about to go crazy," a user mentioned.

On the other hand, some users expressed indifference toward Kendrick Lamar's performance. Another person gave a funny response, saying that Lamar should allow the audience to sing the track.

"Who gives a f**k lmao," an X reaction reads.
"He should just let the crowd sing it," a netizen commented.
"Song is sooo overrated," a user reacted on X.

Kendrick Lamar will be joined by SZA at the Super Bowl Halftime Show

The Compton, California native was selected as the headliner for the event in September last year. While the new ad for his performance has already created headlines, on January 23, it was confirmed that SZA will also appear with him on stage.

In an Instagram video shared by Apple Music, Kendrick Lamar appears on a football field where he is speaking to someone on the phone, saying that he was thinking about bringing a guest performer. SZA then slowly approaches Lamar from the back and throws a bucket of blue water on him. The caption reads:

"Catch @kendricklamar with guest @sza. #AppleMusicHalftime #SBLIX."

According to Variety's January 23 report, the Super Bowl Halftime Show is scheduled to happen at the New Orleans-based Caesars Superdome. The executive producers of the show are Roc Nation and Jesse Collins, and it will be directed by Hamish Hamilton.
