Kanye West fans are distraught after the rapper failed to release Vultures 2, the sequel to his collaborative album, Vultures 1, with Ty Dolla $ign. The latter album was released on February 10, 2024, under their joint moniker ¥$.

Vultures 2 was expected to be out on August 2, 2024, which was mentioned on West's YZY website with the message “ALL ORDERS FULFILLED VULTURES 2 COMING AUGUST 2ND" on July 31. Hours later, the release date was removed and only the “ALL ORDERS FULFILLED” message remained.

Kanye West's fans took to social media to express their frustration at the rapper teasing Vultures 2's impending release numerous times but never following through. One person commented on X:

"YOU ACTUALLY THOUGHT VULTURES 2 WAS DROPPING HAHAHAHA"

More Ye fans shared the sentiment, adding the rapper lied about the Vultures 2 release date.

"Me being a Kanye fan rn. Since he lied about dropping Vultures 2," one person tweeted.
"Kanye West lied to us about dropping vultures 2 smh," a user wrote.
"He never said Vultures 2 would drop at 12:00 he said some time August 2nd so ITS DROPPING SOON (I'm delusional)," someone commented.

Other people mocked West's fans for believing the rapper would release his new album after constantly postponing it.

"Kanye West Fans really thought he was dropping Vultures 2 tonight," one netizen commented.
"Y’all some real dumba** mfs for thinking this n**** Kanye finna drop Vultures 2. Like how many times are y’all gonna fall for this bulls***," another person added.
"I already knew that Vultures 2 wasn't going to come out today, damn it's Kanye, who believes in him g? Kkkkkkkkk," another user wrote.

Kanye West's Vultures 2 was originally slated for a March release

On January 23, 2024, Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign announced that the Vultures series will be a trilogy, with Vultures 1 scheduled for release in February, Vultures 2 in March, and Vultures 3 in April. The first volume was initially slated for release on December 15, 2023, which was pushed back to January 12, 2024. The album finally dropped on February 9.

Vultures 2 also experienced a similar fate. The album's original release date was on March 2, 2024. The date was postponed to April, then May, with West finally announcing it would be out on August 2. But as midnight hit August 2, the album was nowhere in sight.

It is unclear when the second and third volumes will be released. The track listing for the second part of the Vultures trilogy is yet to be announced, but the album is expected to feature artists like Young Thug, Future, Playboy Carti, Don Toliver, and Kodak Black, among others.

Vultures 1's various lawsuits explored

Following its release, Vultures 1 topped the Billboard 200, though it was not without its controversies. On February 27, 2024, Donna Summer's estate filed a lawsuit against Kanye West for sampling the late singer's song, I Feel Love, in the album's track Good (Don’t Die) without permission. In the court documents retrieved from the case's settlement, Summer's attorneys wrote (as quoted in Billboard):

“Summer’s estate … wanted no association with West’s controversial history and specifically rejected West’s proposed use. In the face of this rejection, defendants arrogantly and unilaterally decided they would simply steal ‘I Feel Love’ and use it without permission.”

The lawsuit was settled on June 20 and the song was removed from streaming platforms and digital downloads.

On February 10, Rockstar Ozzy Osbourne also threatened to sue Kanye West after the rapper sampled the Black Sabbath song Iron Man in his track Carnival without permission.

This caught Osbourne's attention after West and Ty performed the song at their listening party in New York before the album's release. Following this, the sample was replaced with West's Hell of a Life.
