Rapper Drake publicly called out Gordo on his Instagram stories on Monday (July 29) for not giving him credit on his song, Cafecito, from the album Diamante, which the rapper allegedly helped produce.

Cafecito was released in May as a pre-release track, including Sech and Nicki Nicole as features. Taking to Instagram stories on July 29, Drizzy wrote about the song:

“I made this beat with you, but it’s all good."

Gordo and Drake reportedly share an amicable relationship, and Drake's statement was seemingly intended as a joke, suggested the publication Rap-Up. The rapper also appeared in Gordo's recent tracks, Sideways and Healing from Diamante.

Fans were quick to react to Drizzy's comments on X, with many trolling the rapper for allegedly having many uncredited writers. Here are some of the reactions:

"that's corny so what you could have called him or dm him", said one X user.
"Now tell us how many uncredited writers he has" a fan said.
"The audacity…lol after all the ppl he’s snaked who had to fight and go through Universal to be added to his credit list" another fan alleged.
"He’s probably joking" an individual said.

Some fans also alleged that the Canadian rapper was helping in the song's promotion, and supported him in calling his friend out.

"If I was him I would run down every credit since people always playing with him. Travis never credited him on a song that Drake was 80% of but he ain’t be rude lol him and Gordo always playing" an X user mentioned.
"Is he salty or is he helping sell the song and album ? Let's use our heads." a fan added.
"Give him credit @GordoSZN . He’s your boy" another individual quipped.
"Y’all love Drake more than your favorite Artist. Him and Gordo has good relationship😂😂 somehow yall tryna twist this" another user claimed.

After Drake's IG story, Gordo reposted his story, seemingly giving him credit for the same, and wrote, "Este album es historico," which translates to "this album is historical." However, Drizzy's name does not appear in Cafecito's credits on Spotify as of the time of writing of this article.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE in July, Gordo revealed how he first met his longtime friend and collaborator, Drake. The DJ mentioned that he once snuck into one of Drizzy's concerts when he was younger and recalled:

"I was always friends with people who were his tour managers or something connected to him, so I would see him every once in a while, take a little photo here and there, but just like that. Then we connected and slowly, over time, we became really close."

Drizzy and Gordo worked together on the tracks Tie That Binds, Sticky, Currents, and Calling My Name from the 2022 album Honestly Nevermind. Speaking to PEOPLE, the DJ revealed that Tie That Binds was originally supposed to appear in Diamante.

He recalled the story behind the making of Tie That Binds and said:

"We had a 20-minute drive home, and I was like, ‘Yo, can I play you a song I’m working on?’ He was like, ‘Yeah.’ Then I’m playing the song, [and] he was like, ‘What? You’re making house music like this?’ Then I gave him one of the songs I was working on.”

Gordo revealed that another Diamante track that was supposed to be Drake's was Target. It finally featured T-Pain. The DJ referred to Drizzy as the "greatest to ever do it" and explained that the rapper values his opinion a lot.

The singer also mentioned that Drizzy and he never discussed music until the two collaborated on Honestly Nevermind.
