Netizens have reacted to American rapper Boosie BadAzz seeking an official pardon from newly elected President Donald Trump.

In 2023, the rapper was accused of possessing firearms. However, the judge eventually dismissed the case, and he was set free. Weeks after the dismissal of his case, US attorney Tara McGrath filed another case against the rapper. He was eventually charged with two counts of firearm possession.

On January 20, 2025, Chief Justice John Roberts sworn in Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States during his inauguration ceremony at the Capitol Building. Two days later, Boosie BadAzz turned to X to seek an official pardon from the newly elected President.

The internet reacted to Boosie BadAzz's request. An X user quipped that the rapper would have to work for MAGA to be granted a pardon.

"You gotta put in some work for a few years for MAGA," the user claimed.
"It’s worth a try," commented another.
"Aye @realDonaldTrump @elonmusk @SpaceForceDoD can yall help my buddy out? He means well. Ignore the all caps. He isn’t yelling. The all caps is how he naturally communicates. I vouche for him," a user chimed in.

Another user wished that Donald Trump would take a look at his petition, commenting:

"We will fight for you Boosie! I hope Trump takes a look at your case!"
" @JDVance get Boosie that pardon & you will have the hiphop culture vote in the bag for 2028 election," a user commented on X.

Some other reactions are as follows:

"Your mouth was all sealed during the election, now begging," a user wrote.
"Bruh, you literally rap about guns, murder, drugs etc. Corrupting the youth and polluting their minds, all for money. You might as well be classified as a violent offender," opined another.
"You should have supported Trump when he was running instead of saying "kamala or Trump whoever wins take a look at my case"," a user inferred.

According to a report by Fox 5 San Diego, Boosie BadAzz was arrested in 2023 after he showed off his handgun in an Instagram Live video. He reportedly fled before police arrived at his residence.

After that, a police helicopter was used to track down the rapper's car, and two handguns were found in his possession. Boosie BadAzz was charged with firearm possession, but the case was dismissed soon.

Less than two weeks later, attorney Tara McGrath filed another indictment against the rapper, and he was charged with two counts of firearm possession. On January 22, the rapper pleaded to Donald Trump to grant him pardon after the 78-year-old was officially declared the 47th President of the United States.

"Trump CHECK MY CASE OUT ‼️MY CASE WAS DISMISSED BUT BIDENS DOJ RECHARGED ME WITH THE SAME GUN CHARGE BIDEN PARDON HIS SON OF .I WAS TOLD I AM THE ONLY PERSON IN THE COUNTRY FACING THAT CHARGE NOW," Boosie BadAzz tweeted.

The rapper implored President Trump to learn more about his charges from the rapper's attorney, Meghan Blanco. Boosie BadAzz also responded to netizens advocating against his pardon in subsequent tweets, writing:

"DAM I AINT NO SO MANY PEOPLE DONT WANT ME TO BE PARDONED.THIS “SOCIAL MEDIA WORLD “WOULD RATHER SEE U FALL THAN BE GREAT‼️N NOT JUST WITH ME WITH ANY FAMOUS PERSON ‼️”U BETTER KNOW “ THAT SOON AS YOU GET INTO SOME S**T THEY GO KICK U WAY HARDER WHEN U DOWN THEN THEY LIFTED U UP WHEN U WAS UP‼️"

Finally, the rapper slammed people who had opined that he shouldn't ask for a pardon. Claiming that he deserved a second chance, Boosie BadAzz asserted that he would keep going until he succeeded.

Donald Trump's camp has yet to reply to the 42-year-old rapper.
