Bunnie XO and her husband, singer Jelly Roll, announced their decision to take the help of surrogacy to welcome a child on the series finale of their podcast, Dumb Blonde, on July 2, 2024.

A few days after her announcement, the podcaster spoke up on Facebook against the alleged hate and negative comments she has reportedly been subjected to online since her announcement. Bunnie Xo shared a screenshot of one such comment she had received, calling it "gross" and writing:

"This is so gross. You guys think I don’t want to carry because of my body lol. When in actuality I’m scared to because I’ve had two ectopic pregnancies and miscarriages AND at my age, I do not want to go thru that again nor do we have time for me to do that because our life is happening so fast."

The post Bunnie quoted supposedly criticized her decision to opt for surrogacy and spoke in favor of carrying a child in one's own body. The user in the comment also told Bunnie that pregnancy would not affect her mentally as much but could affect her physical appearance.

Speaking further in her post, Bunnie, also known as Alisa DeFord, mentioned that she is no longer comfortable talking about her journey with surrogacy because of comments similar to the screenshot she shared. She also urged her followers to be kind on the internet. She continued:

"Please watch how you say things to ppl on the internet. You aren’t in their shoes, you haven’t fought their battles & you kno nothing of the journey we’ve been thru, only what we’ve told you. This right here is exactly why I won’t be posting our journey anymore."

Bunnie XO is currently 44 years old. The podcaster revealed in her aforementioned post that she is afraid of being pregnant on her own at her age. She also revealed that she's gone through two ectopic pregnancies and miscarriages.

As per the Mayo Clinic, an ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg grows outside the uterus, often threatening the health of the mother.

In a recent clip Bunnie XO shared on Facebook from the latest episode (July 6) of her podcast Dumb Blonde, she opened up about her struggles with pregnancy and how she got out of her depression and anxiety. She said:

"Speaking of kids, let's talk about our IVF journey. We started this IVF journey in 2019. Nobody knows what I was going through. My suicidal depression and my ideation and still figuring out sobreity. I had just stopped drinking a year before and I just wasn't ready."

She further spoke about how much things had changed over the years for her and her husband, Jelly Roll. The podcaster opened up about the negative comments she had been getting online. She said:

"2019 to 2024 is a world of difference. We are not even the same humans we were in 2019. And so now he's [Jelly Roll] like, really excited about it. We were so gonna keep this private from the internet, because of how the internet is."

The podcaster elaborated that the internet is not a "beautiful place" and could ruin beautiful moments. While she revealed that she got a lot of love when she announced the decision to go for surrogacy, she was apprehensive about sharing more information about the procedure online.

Bunnie XO mentioned that it's a "fragile situation" for those who are going through infertility problems or pregnancy issues. She added that people "talking sh*t" affects her, especially those saying she is having a baby for content. She said:

"First of all, do I look like I need to have, a baby to get views? Motherf**kers. No. No, I don't. And then there was another person like-- she just wants to capitalize and make money off the baby. Do you not think I am f**king rich already?"

Bunnie XO mentioned that she does not believe she is strong enough to carry a child herself and let her "hormones get out of whack." She mentioned her anxiety is "finally good" and her depression is no longer there.

The podcaster mentioned that they will be using "her eggs" and "Jay's sp*rms" to create "something of their own." She clarified that she would like to keep her journey private hereafter.

Bunnie XO ended the interview by saying they could have two babies, or twins. She explained that she will no longer talk about IVF or her babies before they are born.
