The MTV Video Music Awards 2024 was held at the UBS Arena in New York City on September 11, 2024. Taylor Swift and Post Malone were among the artists who won the coveted Moonman statuettes.
The duo won the award for Best Collaboration for their song Fortnight from Swift’s acclaimed album, Tortured Poets Department. As they accepted their award, they shared a sweet moment.

Swift praised Post Malone’s talent and appreciated him for his contributions to the Fortnight track:
"It's so amazing to have the opportunity to thank and honor the people who worked so hard with me on this video,”
She continued:
“There is a very clear reason why Post Malone is everyone in music's favorite person to collaborate with, and it is because you are so ridiculously talented.”
The 34-year-old singer described him as a versatile artist and “the most down-to-earth person.”
Taylor Swift teased that Post Malone would not stop calling her ma’am
Taylor Swift, with 10 VMA nominations, described Post Malone, who received 9, as humble.
"Honestly, so unfailingly polite. It has taken me forever to get him to stop calling me ma'am," she joked.
She then turned to the I Had Some Help hitmaker and said:
"So, do you want to say something, Austin?"
Post then remarked politely: “Yes ma’am.”
He was at a loss for words as he tried to describe Swift. He later said:
"Taylor is absolutely one of the most kind and talented people I've ever had the honor of knowing and just the amount of work care and love that she puts into everything she does, from the music video to everything."
He continued in his praise for her:
"I watched her tied up to the operating table thing in the video, and she was just directing the music video from there. It was pretty badass."
Malone concluded:
"I just wanted to say thank you so very much for listening and thank you so very much, Taylor, and I love you very much, and have a great night."
Fans of the two artists saw Malone's gentlemanly ways when Taylor Swift posted a behind-the-scenes video of the duo on the set of Fortnight’s music video in June 2024.
In the video, the duo are discussing the concept of the Fortnight music video, and Post can be heard saying:
“Yes ma’am,” as he listens to her.
Post Malone jokingly reacted to his and Swift’s interaction by posting their pictures and the Video Music Awards 2024 on his Instagram and captioned it:
