Mars Volta frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala, whose callout statement on the new Linkin Park member Emily Armstrong went viral last week, reiterated his criticism on Sunday. Cedric shared his wife Chrissie Bixler's statement slamming Emily for her purported support of That '70s Show alum Danny Masterson, who is currently serving life in prison after pleading guilty to r*ping two women in 2003.
Four women initially sued Danny on r*pe accusations, one of whom was Chrissie Carnell Bixler. Although her claims against the convicted actor were not proved in court, her husband Cedric alleged she had faced harassment while leaving one of the hearings.
He claimed to have left the comment that has now gone viral, on Emily's co-founded band Dead Sara's official Instagram page, likely last year.
Emily Armstrong addressed Cedric’s accusation on her Instagram Stories on Friday, claiming she "misjudged" Danny Masterson when she attended one of his court hearings to show her support.
The 38-year-old extended her empathy for the victims and said she has not spoken to the actor since his conviction.
However, Cedric posted his wife Chrissie’s Instagram Story from September 7 on his feed Sunday, where the actress had directly bashed the singer for filling Chester Bennington's spot on Linkin Park, the late member who suffered s*xual abuse as a child. Chrissie wrote:
"If you're not going to speak out against the human and child trafficking cult in which you are apart of and in which you enable by remaining silent on the crimes you know about then you have no right to fill the shoes of Chester Bennington, a true advocate."
Chrissie further accused Emily, who is an alleged member of the Church of Scientology of "the cruel intimidation of Jane Doe 1" along with other members at court. Cedric's wife called the church "a child and human trafficking cult" and accused it of shielding abusers and r*pists.
Chrissie Bixler slammed Emily for not speaking out against the alleged attacks the church perpetrated on fellow victims of Danny Masterson:
"You don't speak out against Scientology not because you're terrified of them. You don't speak out because you are one of them. Shame on Linkin Park."
Cedric Bixler-Zavala says Emily Armstrong's apology seemed to be worded by a "PR crisis team"
Adding to his wife's remarks, Cedric Bixler-Zavala directly addressed Emily Armstrong, asking her if she was aware of her friend Danny Masterson and Chris Wadhams intimidating one of the four women by driving by her house and staring at her following a day of interrogation.
Cedric claimed Danny's sister Alana hid in the bathroom to harass "one of the Jane does" after the latter suffered a "massive panic attack" during her testimony.
He called Emily out for hanging out with Danny's ex-wife Bijou Phillips a few days ago, questioning whether it was okay to do so now that they are divorced.
The Mars Volta lead singer jabbed at Emily Armstrong for allegedly being a part of the Church of Scientology, which doesn't let its members read anything negative about the establishment and its other members.
Cedric referred to Danny Masterson's sentencing on September 7 last year and rejoiced at the "one year anniversary" of the event. He mocked Emily for claiming to have deemed Danny a "good guy", as the Linkin Park singer had said in her apology statement.
However, Cedric accused Emily of not properly conveying her apology by acknowledging the victims. He wrote:
"Your apology is worded as if you hired some PR crisis team to help you."
The singer also fired shots at Linkin Park for not carefully assessing their decision to welcome Emily into their band before introducing her as an official new member.
He called the group a "Disney level brand" and expressed his frustration for not spending "a little money" on digging into Emily’s past, adding:
"Stop playing at the drive in's music on your pre show playlist."
Cedric Bixler-Zavala included a short clip of Danny's now ex-wife Bijou and Emily Armstrong posing for a group photo together with another person with all smiles.
