Veebars, a TikToker, uploaded a video on October 14 explaining why she hates J. Cole "the way Kendrick hates Drake." In the video, which was re-uploaded on X by @MrBusby4o8 on the same day, she could be heard saying,
"I hate J. Cole the way that Kendrick hates Drake. Always have, always will. My biggest complaint about Jermaine since the beginning of his career is that he's a big-a*s poser. And that's all this new track is. He's trying to pose like he didn't take no L in his rap beef."
Here, she referred to Cole suddenly abandoning his friends during the recent beef between rappers Drake and Kendrick Lamar.
She then continued,
"But here's the thing, Jermaine. Ain't no incompletes in rap beefs. Ain't no draws. Only winners or losers. So when you pulled that track, you took an L. Period. Don't come back months later talking about firing my pen."
The video came after Cole broke his silence over Drake and Lamar's beef by releasing a single rap, Port Antonio, on his Instagram on October 9. He clarified in the rap that he left the beef in the middle to avoid being negatively portrayed by those hoping to make money off of the battle.
J. Cole explained in his new song why he left in the middle of the Drake-Lamar feud
As per the X video, uploaded on October 14, TikToker Veebars expressed her dislike towards rapper J. Cole for ditching his fellow rappers during the Lamar- Drake feud. She continued,
"They think I'm dodging smoke. When you brought an actual water gun to one of the biggest rap battles we've seen since Drake vs Pusha T. You trying to make it seem like it was an internet moment to save face."
She finally concluded,
"You trying to make it seem like it was just about clicks and views to save face. Because what it was really about was competition. And you can't be king because you don't want to compete. You just want the crown to be handed to you. On some inherited type sh*t. On some privileged type sh*t."
The video followed the release of J. Cole's new song, Port Antonio, which addressed the long beef between Drake and Lamar. In the rap, he appears to be juggling between the two rappers, singing that Drake will always have his support. He further claimed that Drake "did a lot for me," and he is not afraid to admit it.
He further alleged that some people were profiting from the beef and that "they wanted blood." He also explained that if he had continued to take sides during the battle, he wouldn't have just lost the battle, but he would have also lost a brother, Drake.
He then rapped that maintaining relationships was another factor in the decision to bow out. The rapper also clarified the rumors that he sided with Lamar or that he and Drake are allegedly no longer friends because of how Cole handed the feud.
First Person Shooter, a collaboration between Drake and Cole, was essentially the beginning of the beef, as Cole referred to himself, Drake, and Lamar as "the big three" in the song.
The honor infuriated Lamar, who collaborated with Future and Metro Boomin, and responded with Like That. According to reports, J. Cole abruptly left the fight once it got out of hand because, as his latest song, Port Antonio, implied, both the rappers went too far in their battle.
J. Cole is currently working to release his eagerly anticipated album, The Fall Off, which has been delayed for unspecified reasons and has not yet been given a release date.
