On September 30, 2024, Levi's announced in a press release that Beyonce will be starring in the brand's new global campaign, Reiimagine. As the first in the campaign, the brand released an ad, Chapter 1: “Launderette” - a reinterpretation of a 1985 Levi's ad. In it, the Halo singer is seen taking off her jeans and putting them into a laundry machine with rocks, to "stone wash" them.

Beyonce's Levi's ad campaign has garnered a lot of traction and reactions from internet users on X (formerly Twitter). A netizen claimed that the Countdown singer copied Jennifer Lopez's laundromat still from her 1999 I’m Gonna Be Alright music video.

The tweet gained attention and internet users expressed their perspective on the same. Meanwhile, an X user commented on the allegations against JLo for stealing Ashanti's vocals for her 2001 track I'm Real, suggesting if Queen Bey is copying Jennifer, she would do the same:

"Next she’s gonna use Ashanti vocals and call it hers… copyonce strikes again."
"She’s disgusting and has zero originality," an X user commented.
"Oh beyawnce will you ever have an original thought," another user mentioned.
"She imitated Jlo in the beginning of her Solo career. She was always called out for it. The rest of her career She stole Janet choreographies and other people song credits," an netizen commented.

On the other hand, Beyonce's supporters were quick to defend her against claims of copying JLo:

"Beyoncé inspo from the old LEVI commercial. worry about jlo stealing vocals and her flop music career," an X user stated.
"One of the most common shots used across tv film etc," another user mentioned.
"Omg Jlo is the first to ever do laundry," a netizen remarked sarcastically.

"I am honored to work with Levi’s to create quintessential American iconography": Beyonce comments on the brand's latest ad campaign

Levi's released a press statement on September 30, 2024, announcing their collaboration with Beyonce.

The singer's Levi's ad is a recreation of the brand's 1985 advertisement, with the only change being that the latest ad features Queen Bey's song Levii's Jeans as the background music, while the previous one featured I Heard It Through the Grapevine by Marvin Gaye.

In the press release, Levi's mentioned that the campaign was inspired by the brand's legacy and the vision of the Single Ladies singer as "one of the most influential figures of modern culture, reaffirming the brand’s enduring place at the center of culture."

The brand also mentioned that the campaign reimagined classic Levi's looks by drawing inspiration from Queen Bey's approach to culture, storytelling, and art. Commenting on her song and collaboration with Levi's, Beyonce mentioned in the press release:

“My song ‘LEVII’S JEANS’ celebrates what I believe is the ultimate Americana uniform — something we all wear with pride. I am honored to work with Levi’s to create quintessential American iconography."

She further added:

"Denim on denim has often been seen through a male lens, so this reimagining campaign, which celebrates the iconic female perspective, is important to me. I look forward to exploring innovative ways for our visions to align in empowering women and honoring their strength.”

In other news, Beyonce's recent interview with GQ for the publication's October 2024 cover story has attracted several eyeballs, given the singer talks about switching genres, family life, and more in the interview.

On being asked if her reputation pressurizes her, Queen Bey mentioned that she just hopes her work encourages people "to look within themselves and come to terms with their own creativity, strength, and resilience."
