During a December 17 livestream on YouTube, DJ Akademiks offered his latest insights on Jay-Z and Diddy. The internet personality shared a video featuring the two hip-hop moguls laughing and quickly embracing after Jay-Z came out of a room allegedly having young girls.

While the authenticity of the clip, which appeared to be decades old, remains unverified, DJ Akademiks referred to it and said:
“On thing I mind about Jay-Z, I told you, Jay-Z’s a cold n***a and I like that about him. Yo, you n***as caught tight, this be the Black community… Jay’s my mess. Yo, one thing I f*ck with Jay for is a cold n***a, a cutthroat assassin. Okay?”
Akademiks also mocked those who think Jay-Z distancing himself from Diddy's case is being “disloyal” towards a friend.
“Man, it’s the music industry, it’s all about disloyalty. This is ‘Game of Thrones’ n***a. Yo, Jay-Z knows one has to be sacrificed and they picked Diddy already. Off with his neck,” Akademiks said.
His remarks came after Jay-Z’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, told reporters on Monday, December 16, that despite being co-defendants in a lawsuit, there’s “no closer association” between his client and Sean Combs.
Exploring DJ Akademiks’ latest remarks on Jay-Z and Diddy
On Tuesday, December 17, DJ Akademiks uploaded a lengthy video on his YouTube channel, ‘The Akademy,’ addressing many ongoing industry incidents, including Jay-Z being dragged into the Diddy scandal. He sarcastically called out Jay for attempting to “sacrifice” Diddy to save himself and his businesses.
“If it makes dollars, it makes sense. F*ck anything else. F*ck a friend, f*ck loyalty, f*ck it. It’s all about the bag… Everybody has to go. I like a n***a like that. Cutthroat,” Akademiks shared.
“I’ll be honest with you, I like the fact that he’s saying he don’t know Diddy. Not gotta f*ck with that n***a anyway. Brought the n***a billions of dollars in deals that’s at stake. F*ck, I like that.”
DJ Akademiks explained that people don’t reach Jay-Z’s “spot” if they follow their “heart too much.” Instead, they need to be “cutthroat” and be ready to throw anybody “under the bus.” He mocked Jay by saying the Roc Nation boss didn’t even “see” Diddy at public events until the camera turned on them together.
“I respect Jay for doing... Listen, this is nothing Jay hasn’t done [before]. Jay will throw you to the wolves. It’s all about self-survival. It’s all about the Carters family empire,” the influencer noted.
Calling HOV a “cold, shrewd operator,” Akademiks said he knew this day would come eventually. He said he even predicted it in front of his colleagues and followers.
Jay-Z was accused of drugging and r*ping a 13-year-old girl at an MTV VMAs afterparty in New York City in 2000 along with Diddy, while an unnamed female celebrity reportedly watched. The civil lawsuit was originally filed in a New York federal court in October by plaintiff Jane Doe. However, in the December 8 refiling, Jay was named as co-defendant.
The Roc-A-Fella co-founder has refuted the claims via a lengthy statement published by Roc Nation. Besides, he has asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit, citing “lack of subject matter jurisdiction due to the plaintiff’s lack of standing.”
Meanwhile, Jay’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, went on record and told NBC News during a December 17 interview that his client and Diddy had "no friendship or longtime bond."
“Just because they knew each other, know each other, that doesn’t mean anything,” Spiro added.
Before that, during a roundtable press conference at the Roc Nation headquarters in NYC, Alex Spiro shared that Jay “has nothing to do with” Diddy’s ongoing federal case, and they only knew each other in a professional capacity. He also claimed HOV wasn’t aware of the “charges or allegations” related to the Bad Boy Record mogul and had nothing to do with “that case.”
Diddy is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center, Brooklyn, on charges of s*x trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution, among other alleged crimes. He was arrested on September 16 after a grand jury indictment and has pleaded not guilty to all charges. He is awaiting trial on May 5, 2025.
