During the episode, the host, Adam, asked Blockstar to take listeners to the day when Pop Smoke, whose real name was Bashar Barakah Jackson, was killed. The suspected rapper said that he wasn't going into too many details but confirmed that it was a robbery.
"Well, I'm not finna get into detail about too much but, it was a robbery," Blockstar told the host.
He continued:
"Nobody sent us, nobody did none of that. That's all false information. It's lot of pages, that's like giving off false information YouTube, like the vlog, they don't know, none of ya'll know nothing."
Blockstar was one of the four people who were charged with the murder, three of whom were juveniles and were sentenced as juveniles after settling their cases.
Blockstar speaks up about Pop Smoke's address getting leaked online a day before his death
According to TMZ, unnamed sources who witnessed the surveillance video of the day Pop Smoke was killed mentioned seeing at least four masked men. They said that the four men went inside the property, after which the front doors had been shut.
A few hours before his death, the late rapper posted what seemed to be his home address on social media. The rapper was showing the gift bags he received as his mixtape hit No. 7 on Billboard's 200 charts.
One of the bags mentioned the address, which Adam brought into reference while talking to Blockstar, who said that people were assuming and trying to put together theories. Adam then asked him if there was a connection between the alleged robbery and Pop Smoke revealing his location.
Blockstar told the podcast host that he couldn't speak about that part at all, adding that he wasn't going to "lie to nobody."
"Oh that part I can't speak about because at all. I don't know how the address got, I don't know how, I don't know that part. So, I can't even speak that. I'm not finna sit here and lie to nobody," the rapper said.
Additionally, Blockstar also said that he had no remorse for the death of Pop Smoke and told the host that he's not sorry for anything. He stated that "it should've never happened," and if he could go back, he would, adding that he wasn't sorry.
Blockstar also stated that "n***as die every day," and the late rapper even used to rap about all of that.
“So, I ain’t sorry about it. I send my condolences to the family. I wish it never happened. But … I don’t regret nothing,” the rapper said.
One of the four accused in the late rapper's murder, Blockstar was a juvenile at the time he was convicted and served four years. He was released in June 2024 and was immediately in the news for allegedly trying to cut off his ankle monitor.
The fan agitation after Blockstar's release led to fans of the late rapper threatening the former, as a result of which his probation officer had to relocate him. After his release, Blockstar went to the No Jumper store to demand money, stating they had covered the details of his release, and he also took to Instagram to post details of the same.
However, No Jumper paid no heed to the same and ended up inviting Blockstar to the latest episode of their podcast.
In other news about Pop Smoke's case, the only adult charged with the late rapper's murder, Corey Walker's trial, is set to begin on August 6, 2024. As per Rolling Stone, Walker's trial is expected to last three and a half weeks.
Of the four accused in Pop Smoke's murder, Walker is the only one awaiting trial while the other three unnamed suspects including Blockstar were tried by the juvenile court.
