Post Malone has shared a long-standing love for country music even though he started out as a rapper and singer in the hip-hop and pop music genre. The 29-year-old is also known for blending sub-genres of music like R&B, trap, and country music.
He boasts hit songs like Congratulations and Sunflower, among others and has joined other pop superstars like Beyoncé, who have successfully made their transition into country music.

In 2019, in an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, the Rockstar singer expressed that he wasn’t opposed to releasing a full country album in the future. He stated:
"I make a bunch of different songs, some of which that will never come out, just for fun. I’ve made some country songs, some rock songs… you never know whenever I might get some inspiration and just say, ‘Hey, let's put this out now.’”
In 2020, the artist performed a duet of Johnny Cash’s Cocaine Blues, alongside Billy Strings on the latter’s tour.
In 2023, he made his official debut in country music, as a featured artist on Joe Diffie’s Pickup Man track, which peaked at number 5 on the Hot Country Songs chart. Post Malone's first proper country single, I Had Some Help, which features vocal contributions from Morgan Wallen, was released in May 2024 as the lead single from the Texas-raised singer’s upcoming studio album, F-1 Trillion.
