A brief overview of Red Velvet's career

The group released their first EP, Ice Cream Cake, on March 18, 2015, and followed it quickly with their debut studio album, The Red. Both were able to secure the top position on the Korean album chart.

The group then went on to release two EPs each subsequent year, as well as a second studio album, Perfect Velvet, in 2017, which was in turn reissued in early 2018.

Starting in 2019, the band started their ReVe Festival: Day 1 series of EPs, releasing the first two in the same year, followed by two more in 2022. The group spoke about the EP in an exclusive interview with Billboard magazine on March 25, 2022, with member Selugi stating:

"Through this album, we wanted to express Red Velvet’s unique “Imaginative World” worldview so we expanded and built on the themes that were showcased in our previous albums. You can see the connection to our previous works as well as a new side of Red Velvet that you haven’t seen before. Also, our “Feel My Rhythm” music video continues the dark fairytale concept for a new start."

Red Velvet member Irene later added:

"As we prepared for this EP, I definitely felt we’ve matured a lot. As we gain more years and experience in our careers, the work has become more natural and familiar compared to when we first debuted. We can grasp each process faster and our teamwork as a group has gotten so much stronger."

The group released its last studio album, Chill Kill, on November 12, 2023. Aside from their Korean language work, the band has also released a full-length Japanese album, Bloom, in 2022.
