American rapper William Leonard Roberts II aka Rick Ross recently cancelled his show at the MURAL Festival in Montreal on June 15, 2024. What puzzled fans was that after citing personal reasons for bailing out of the Montreal show, the Hustlin' rapper was seen performing at the Blavity House Party Music Festival in Nashville the same day.

In a statement published by the organization behind the Mural Festival, it was cited that Rick Ross decided to cancel his performance owing to personal reasons. The statement announced:

"For personal reasons, Rick Ross has made the decision to cancel his performance at the Festival. In the coming days, we will provide a full refund of the daily tickets you purchased or a partial refund of Weekend 2 Passes and Festival Passes if applicable."

The Blavity House Party Music Festival was hosted by Mani Millss, Bridget Kelly, and Zack Fox. Apart from the Push It rapper, the festival featured performances by K. Michelle, Uncle Waffles, Ryan Leslie, Leon Thomas, and other A-listers.

Fans speculate Rick Ross cancelling the Montreal concert had something to do with Drake's feud

Instagram page MTV Flex was quick to share the news of Rick Ross canceling his performance in Montreal and performing in Nashville the same night. The post's comment section was soon full of fan reactions wherein some fans pointed out that Rick's cancellation of the Montreal performance might had something to do with Drake.

Rick Ross and Drake's feud began in April when Drake released Push Ups in April 2024, and targeted Rick in the same. Rick responded with Champagne Moments a few hours later wherein he targeted Drake's ethnicity, physical appearance, and business practices.

Recently, the Mafia Music rapper added to the feud with Drizzy by changing the cover art of Champagne Moments in June 2024. The rapper changed the art from the black and white photo of a man resembling Drake to a cartoon that looks like Drake with blonde hair. Both covers feature #BBLDRIZZY- a hashtag Rick came up with that indicates the physically alternating surgeries Drizzy has allegedly undergone.

Since Drake resides in Canada, fans put two and two together, alleging that Rick might've canceled his performance in the country owing to Drake's presence.

Additionally, the incident on June 15, 2024, is not the first time the Here I Am rapper has canceled a show. In November 2022, Rick was supposed to perform at an outdoor festival at the Wild Things Park in Washington. The rapper also got an advance of $150k for his performance, however, he canceled the same two days before the show. This resulted in Rick getting sued by the promoter Washington County Family Entertainment.

As per the details of the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, the contract signed by Rick Ross mentioned that the rapper couldn't cancel once the contract was executed and tickets went on sale. The promoter shared that Rick's team told them that they had to cancel the rapper's weekend lineup due to health and family issues. However, Rick Ross refunded less than half the amount that was given to him in advance.

Hence, the Washington County Family Entertainment sued the You The Boss rapper for $87,500 plus expenses.

In other news, Rick Ross' recent car show held in Georgia in June 2024 also faced backlash from fans owing to the event being unorganized. Fans described the event as people pushing one another and other complaints about their experience under the comment section of Rick's Instagram post promoting the event.
