The music video for Sabrina Carpenter's song Feather was released on October 31, 2023. The song recently became the reason behind a probe against a priest linked to New York City Mayor Eric Adams. The video for Feather features Sabrina Carpenter in a little black dress at the altar of a church in Brooklyn. It sees coffins around her that read "RIP B*tch."
The video led Bishop Robert Brennan to take action against the priest who allowed Carpenter to use the church for her music video. Apart from the bishop taking action against the priest, federal agents also investigated the priest's ties to the corruption linked to New York's Mayor Eric Adams.
As soon as news of the priest being investigated made its way to social media, netizens took to X to comment on the same. Many praised Sabrina Carpenter, with one person even stating that the singer had "saved New York."
"SABRINA CARPENTER SAVED NEW YORK" the user wrote.
Netizens stated that it was "Sabrina's impact" as they praised the singer for "saving pop music and real world." Others said that they were happy that the song was getting free promo.
"Sabrina’s impact!" an X user stated.
"Oh sabrina saving pop music and the real world" another X user mentioned.
"Oh sabrina you didn’t have to eat like that" an internet user praised the singer.
"That's quite the twist! It's interesting how art can lead to real-world investigations. Curious to see how this unfolds!" another internet user said.

"So everything happens for a reason whether it’s controversial or not period" another X user suggested.

"Sabrina savior of new york" another internet user claimed.
How Sabrina Carpenter's Feather video played a role in Eric Adams' indictment
The New York City mayor, Eric Adams, was indicted for participating in illegal campaign contributions on September 24, 2024. He was also indicted for accepting plane trips from the Turkish government during and leading up to his run as mayor between 2016 and 2021.
Amidst the indictment, the investigators subpoenaed the pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Annunciation Parish, where Sabrina shot the video. The federal agency is investigating Pastor Jamie Gigantiello for his ties to Frank Carone, Adams' former chief of staff of Eric Adams. The subpoena against Gigantiello was issued in continuation of a previous investigation carried out against him for allowing Sabrina to shoot the music video.
Gigantiello was relieved of his duties, but the diocese officials refused to reveal more information into the probe. When reporters reached out to them for a comment, they told Express US that it would be "inappropriate to comment" on the review as it was still ongoing.
Sabrina Carpenter creates controversy around the absence of Nonsense outros
Sabrina Carpenter is currently on the Short n' Sweet Tour, which started on September 23, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio. However, one of the highlights of her performances is the Nonsense outros that she began doing in 2022 during the Emails I Can't Send tour.
The outros of her songs kept changing depending on where the singer was performing. The lyrics are either a tribute to the city where she is at the time or they can be s*xually suggestive lines.
So far, the Please Please Please singer has done about 118 different Nonsense outros since she began in 2022, according to a list by Genius.
While her fans love the outros, their absence at her opening concert for the Short n' Sweet tour on September 23, 2024, in Ohio made headlines. Just as the singer was set to perform the intro, her mic cut, and she was steered off the stage. A message appeared on the screen, stating that they had to interrupt the program due to technical difficulties.
“We apologize for the interruption of our program due to technical difficulties.”
Several publications reached out to Carpenter and her team for comments about the outros and whether they will be discontinued in her latest tour. However, neither the singer nor her team have made a statement on the same yet.
Sabrina Carpenter is currently on the Short n' Sweet Tour, which kicked off on September 23, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio, and is set to end on March 26, 2025, in Milan, Italy.
