Shortly after announcing his breakup with Halle Bailey via Instagram on October 3, 2024, American rapper DDG commented on his relationship status via a live stream posted by The Shade Room on October 8, 2024.

In the live stream, DDG talked about not wanting another relationship at the moment unless it is with Halle Bailey and mentioned:

“No, let me say that right now, y’all. I am not dating anyone, I don’t have a potential girlfriend nor do I even think about that, whatsoever. I don’t plan on getting into another relationship at all, unless it’s Halle. That’s the only way. I am not finna get a new girlfriend. I don’t have the desire. I don’t want multiple baby mamas, I don’t want none of that.”

Internet users were quick to react to the viral snippet from the Hood Melody rapper's livestream, and took to the comment section of The Shade Room's Instagram post to express their opinions on the same. "We are still best friends and adore each other"— DDG mentioned in Instagram story, announcing breakup from Halle Bailey

Halle Bailey and DDG, aka Darryl Dwayne Grandberry Jr., sparked dating rumors in January 2022, and they confirmed their relationship in March 2022. In November 2023 there were speculations of the duo being pregnant and in December 2023 they welcomed their son, Halo.

On October 3, 2024, DDG took to Instagram stories and announced his split from Halle Bailey, telling fans that it was after much reflection and heartfelt conversations that the two decided to go their separate ways. The Elon Musk rapper stated that it wasn't an easy decision but they believed it is "the best path forward" for both of them.

He mentioned that he cherishes the time he and Halle spent together and the love they shared. Alongside, the rapper wrote:

"Despite the changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true. We are still best friends and adore each other. As we focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents, we cherish the bond we’ve build and the beautiful moments we’ve shared.”

Toward the end of his post, the rapper asked fans for understanding and support as he and Halle navigate the recent transition, and he thanked his fans for their encouragement and love.

As of now, Halle Bailey has not commented on her relationship status or the comments that DDG is publicly making.

In addition to announcing his breakup and commenting on not wanting multiple baby mamas, DDG made another controversial statement in a clip of the No Ordinary Podcast released on October 5, 2024.

In the clip, the rapper told streamer Jay Cinco that he'd tell his 22-year-old self to remain single because a relationship is like a part-time job that requires a lot of time and effort.
