"She’s playing the smart game" — Internet reacts to JT ignoring question about ranking rappers including Nicki Minaj and Cardi B on Hot Ones

American rapper JT recently appeared in an episode of Hot Ones with Kali Uchis wherein the duo traded questions in a round called "Tell the truth or suffer the wrath of the Last Dab". The question round comprises having to answer the questions to avoid eating spicy wings.

Kali Uchis asked the Twerk rapper to rank other female rappers from most to least talented, mentioning the names of Nicki Minaj, Latto, Ice Spice, and Cardi B. JT showed reluctance while answering and stated:

“I’m not going to lie, this is hard. My heart is pounding to answer this, but not in that type of way because I’m shaking cuz I don’t want to eat this wing.”

Given that JT has a feud with Nicki Minaj owing to City Girls diss tracks and Cardi B, her reluctance to answer Kali Uchis' question garnered a reaction from multiple internet users. While there is no specific reason for beef between the City Girls rapper and Nicki Minaj, the latter unfollowed the former recently adding fuel to feud rumors.

"I’m still a City Girl. I need my name": JT commented on always being a part of City Girls

JT was a part of hip hop duo City Girls alongside Yung Miami and the duo split in June 2024 after releasing their third studio album RAW. Despite the split-up, the rapper talked about City Girls in a recent interview with Complex dated August 9, 2024.

Suggesting that City Girls is an integral part of her career as an artist and that she has no issues with being associated with the same, the rapper mentioned:

“I'm like Tina Turner, I’m still a City Girl. I need my name. That's the biggest thing about me, I can't ever get away from being a City Girl.”

She continued her statement by saying that she will be known as JT from City Girls and that people will continue calling her that. Addressing her split from Yung Miami and breaking up the duo, the Good Love rapper said that parting ways made sense for both of them in terms of the direction they both were going in and the different things they were focussing on. She also mentioned that there are no hard feelings about the split and that they both "saw it coming".

In other news, while JT made headlines by taking a neutral approach to rank other female rappers, especially the ones she has a beef with, she did indirectly confess to who her favorite is.

During her appearance on Hot Ones, the rapper asked Kali Uchis to guess her favorite rapper and the latter took Nicki Minaj's name on the No Bars rapper's behalf. While JT did not explicitly call Uchis' guess the right answer, she did not deny Nicki Minaj being her favorite rapper either hinting at amicable relations between the two.
