Indie-pop trio Shaed released a remix of the original song with Zayn in September 2019, and the song was an instant hit. Zayn Mallik's latest album, Room Under the Stairs, was released in May 2024. It is his fourth studio album and is his only project that does not play host to any guest appearances. The album clocked in at #15 on the US Billboard 200 and #3 on the UK Albums Chart.
Whilst speaking with Alexandra Cooper on the podcast Call Her Daddy in July 2023, the singer divulged that the album isn't something "people are really gonna expect." The album generally received mixed to positive reviews from critics and fans. The album peaked at #3 on the UK Albums chart and #15 on the US Billboard 200.
