Producer Conductor Williams recently released a Drake freestyle rap on his YouTube page on January 3, 2025. The rap featured Drizzy seemingly taking a shot at his rival, Kendrick Lamar and was taken down from Conductor Williams' channel.
However, fans of the One Dance rapper had already shared what they dubbed the "Fighting Irish Freestyle" rap over social media platforms wherein Drizzy seemingly called out Lamar. In the freestyle, Drake raps:
"That n**** pulled a rabbit out a hat, I know you love a magician / It's funny to see y'all rejoicing and hugging and kissing."
Additionally, Drizzy indirectly called out the people who switched sides on him during his rap feud with Kendrick Lamar, with lyrics like:
"'Nothing Was The Same' with all you b***hes and nothing's forgiven."
The rapper also mentioned:
"The world fell in love with the gimmicks, even my brothers got tickets, seemed like they loved every minute"
Netizens were quick to react to Drake's freestyle supposedly targeting Kendrick Lamar and others. Taking to X to comment on the same, an X user tweeted:
"That freestyle sounded like a passage from his diary 🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️"
"Drake has gained ALL OF OUR respect back" an X user commented.
"Drake's freestyle so fire, even the TV screen needed to step back for some fresh air! 🔥" another X user mentioned.
"This guy cannot be removed; one release and all goes pop. He back!" an internet user stated.
While Drizzy's fans were praising his freestyle bars, some netizens alleged that his lyrics were similar to that of Kendrick Lamar's Euphoria wherein Lamar raps: "I seen two of them kissin' and huggin' on stage."
"Bro using kdots lyrics 🤣 “kissing and hugging on stage” an X user tweeted.
"Bro keep taking Kendrick lyrics lol" a netizen commented.
"Kendrick already said that…." another netizen mentioned.
Drake seemingly addresses the UMG lawsuit in his latest freestyle
In addition to reportedly dissing Kendrick Lamar and some of his associates who changed sides during his feud with Lamar, Drizzy seemingly took a dig at Universal Music Group as well. The lyrics mention:
“I hate to see their empire crumble on judges’ convictions."
Drizzy filed two legal petitions against Universal Music Group in November 2024. In the first petition, lawyers for the rapper's company Frozen Moments LLC accused UMG and Spotify of launching a campaign to manipulate the streams of Kendrick Lamar's diss track Not Like Us. Drizzy's lawyers alleged:
“UMG … conspired with and paid currently unknown parties to use ‘bots’ to artificially inflate the spread of Not Like Us and deceive consumers into believing the song was more popular than it was in reality."
In the second petition, Drizzy accused UMG of defamation claiming that the music company was aware of the false accusations against him mentioned in Not Like Us like that of Drizzy being a pedophile. Drizzy claimed that UMG released the track despite knowing the nature of the accusations the diss track consisted of.
Both the petitions by Drizzy were legal filings and not lawsuits, but rather a request for information from the entities which can be used in a potential lawsuit in the future.
In the recently released and taken down freestyle rap dubbed "Fighting Irish Freestyle" by fans, Drizzy reportedly addressed Kendrick Lamar's allegations from Meet the Grahams wherein Lamar accused Drake of having a drinking problem.
Denying the same via his lyrics in the freestyle rap, Drizzy dubbed it a "subtle addiction" adding he has his father's habits and mother's permission.
