Bloomberg just published a new story that suggests that Kendrick Lamar could potentially be gearing up for a "major stadiums" tour, which will seemingly have the rapper perform across major cities around the world.
The unconfirmed tour will reportedly follow his upcoming 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show performance in New Orleans. Although this news is yet to be officially confirmed by the rapper and his management, several news media outlets have begun reporting on a potential Kendrick Lamar 2025 tour.
The last time fans got to see Kendrick perform across the world was during his "Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers World Tour," which ran between July and December 2022.
Lamar's historic rap beef with Drake, from a few months ago, which delivered his acclaimed diss track Not Like Us, has led to a rise in demand for live performances from the Compton rapper.
With news of a potential Kendrick Lamar "stadium tour" being shared across social media platforms, fans and critics have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts and opinions on the matter.
While several Lamar fans appeared thrilled at the news of the rapper potentially heading out on a new tour, many critics were seen referencing the 2024 rap beef. One individual even took shots at Kendrick for supposedly "squeezing every opportunity" out of his highly viral beef with Drake.
"Just to perform not like us 13 times," a critic stated.
"With no new music just diss tracks? i feel sorry for this guy fans lmao," another chimed in.
"Nah but what is he gonna perform other then like 4,5 songs," a critic claimed.
"Let me guess.. to perform Not Like Us again," said another.
"Drake has officially won," a Drake fan claims.
The news appears to have sparked mixed reactions amongst the hip-hop community, with several fans using the supposed announcement as a means to take further shots at Drake and his OVO collective.
"Why drake fans so triggered anytime we get Kendrick news," a fan questioned.
"Smart for capitalizing on the spotlight," a fan stated.
"Kendrick planning on another Drake funeral ?" questioned another fan.
"2025 is already Kendricks year!" a fan claimed.
Many were seen claiming that news of a potential Kendrick Lamar 2025 tour could mean that fans would be potentially receiving a brand new album, with some even suggesting the LP might be released before the 2025 Super Bowl.
"Yeah the album dropping soon fs LFG," a fan proclaimed.
"Yeah he announcing that album at the Super Bowl," a fan suggests.
"Surely dropping an album between now and February," a user stated.
"Funny that people think he’s not gonna have an album to promote for an entire stadium tour lol," said another.
Everything we know about an upcoming Kendrick Lamar album
Kendrick Lamar's fifth studio album, Mr. Morales & The Big Steppers, was delivered to streaming services over three years ago via pgLang, Top Dawg Entertainment, Aftermath, and Interscope Records.
Lamar's highly anticipated sixth studio project is expected to be delivered to DSPs via pgLang, given the rapper's 18-year contract with Top Dawg expired after Mr. Morale's release in 2022.
Although not much is known regarding the speculated album, rumors of Kendrick working on a new LP began to spread across social media at the height of his beef with Drake, back in May.
Many believe that hints of an upcoming album were suggested in the music video for his hit diss track Not Like Us, which was uploaded to YouTube on July 05, 2024. At the beginning of the video, Kendrick previewed 20 seconds of a new track loosely titled Broccoli, where he raps:
"I am reincarnated / I was stargazin' / Life goes on, I need all my babies (Gyah, gyah) / Woke up, lookin' for the broccoli / High key, keep a horn on me, that Kamasi / IP ownership, the blueprint is by me / Mr. Get Off, I get off at my feet"
A month later, rumors of a new Kendrick album would surface again after the rapper's cousin allegedly posted a screenshot of his conversation with Lamar, which suggested he was "coming" out with a new project.
Kendrick Lamar's most recent single was exclusively uploaded on his Instagram account a day after he was announced to be the 2025 Super Bowl Headliner. Many believe the record, colloquially titled Watch The Party Die, could potentially be one of the first "lead singles" for his highly anticipated sixth studio album.
Kendrick Lamar's most recent live set, at the "Ken & Friends: Pop Out Concert," in June, was a highly praised event. The rapper featured guests like YG, Black Hippy Collective, Tommy The Clown, Tyler The Creator, Dr. Dre, and more.
The event was live-streamed to thousands of fans across the world and left attendees with many memorable moments, which included the rapper performing Not Like Us over five times.
