Drake and OVO Chubbs congratulated the U.S. National Basketball team for winning Olympic Gold but left out LeBron James' name and the internet went crazy with speculation. The United States basketball team won Olympic gold by beating France in the tournament's finals on Saturday, August 10. The same day, Drake posted a picture of Steph Curry's iconic sleep pose during the game.

However, Drake did not post this on his primary account. Instead, he did so as an Instagram story on his alternative account @plottttwistttttt. The rapper's bodyguard, OVO Chubbs, also took to the platform to repost Bleacher Report's Instagram post of Steph Curry hitting the pose during the game on his story.

Chubbs even tagged Golden State Warriors' Steph Curry, Phoenix Suns' Kevin Durant, and Boston Celtics' Jayson Tatum. He even congratulated Suns' Devin Booker in a following story, notably leaving out Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James. OVO Chubbs wrote on his Instagram story, "Congrats to my brothers."

Rumors of a rift between Drake and James have been floating around social media ever since the basketball player attended Kendrick Lamar's Juneteenth Pop Out concert. LeBron was spotted enjoying the show and singing along to Lamar's chart-topping diss track against Drake, Not Like Us.

Social media users reacted to LeBron's omission from the OVO stories. Many thought that Drake was not on good terms with the basketball player following his support to Lamar, who he was beefing with. Others did not care about what Drake or Chubbs thought and congratulated LeBron. One user said:

Here are a few X reactions:

"They’re still salty that Lebron was dancing to Not Like Us. Steph better keep his family away just like Lebron."
"Who cares about OVO Chubbs? He’s the only one that gets hand me downs," said another user.
"Lame af man grow up bron just won Gold On a Top Tier level and MVP he can carless about a Chubb’s 😂,"said a user.
"Ok OVH*E spoiler alert no one cares, " added another user.
"is this supposed to be some sort or message or a one-up? why would bron give any sort of f**k about this? 😭😭," said yet another X user.

However, some users supported Drake and claimed that LeBron switched up on him.

"I respect it Lebron switched up on drake, " said one user.
"He picked a side, he can stay there," added another X user.
"Kendrick fans are about to come in here and talk about “This is female behavior” like Bron didn’t dance along and support a song throwing his friend of 10+ years some nasty accusations. Can’t blame OVO for being salty at all," thought yet another user.

LeBron James wins MVP at the Olympics

The USA Men's National basketball team clinched Gold for the fifth Summer Olympics following a 98-87 win final against France on Saturday, August 10. Team USA went unbeaten in the tournament with a record of 6-0.

LeBron James was named the 2024 Summer Olympics men's basketball tournament MVP. James' teammate Steph Curry, who scored eight three-pointers against France, was also named in the tournament's All-Star Five alongside James, Bronze medal winner Nikola Jokić, Germany's Dennis Schroder, and France's Victor Wembanyama.

LeBron James' tournament had 24.5 minutes, 6.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists, and 14.2 points on 66 percent shooting per game. Reuters quoted James saying he does not see himself playing in the upcoming Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. However, he also noted that he never saw himself playing in this tournament either.
