"It’s called false information"- Beyonce's mother slams Candace Owens' comment on the singer being paid $10 million for Kamala Harris rally
Beyonce made an appearance at Kamala Harris' rally in Houston on October 25, 2024, and endorsed Harris. She was joined by Kelly Roland, Queen Bey's Destiny Child bandmate, at the campaign.
After the Halo singer's appearance at Harris' rally, rumors about Beyonce getting $10 million for endorsing Kamala Harris began circulating. These rumors were further spoken about by right-wing commentator Candace Owens in her podcast, The Candace Owens Show, in November 2024.
In the podcast, Owens said that Queen Bey allegedly got paid $10 million for her "pathetic little endorsement of Kamala Harris," stating the singer got that amount for three minutes of her life.
However, Candace Owens also admitted that the claims weren't confirmed and said there had to be some truth to the rumors, given Harris' campaign has refused to answer questions about the same.
Responding to the rumors, Beyonce's mother, Tina Knowles, took to Instagram on November 17, 2024, posting a screenshot of Candace Owens' podcast about Queen Bey. In the screenshot, Owens' video was blurred, and the text on it read "false information".
Commenting on the same, Tina Knowles mentioned:
"So this has been flagged on Instagram as fake news and taken down. It's called False Information. Sadly other platforms with a lack of integrity still have it up."
Further clarifying rumors of her daughter getting $10 million to endorse Harris, Tina Knowles said that Beyonce paid for her own flights and her team along with the glam. Knowles added:
"They are not only lying and disrespecting Beyonce's name but they are trying to further discredit the power of our vice president! When does the lies and rumors stop? Of course you won't see this in the news !!!!!"
In other news, Netflix announced on November 17, 2024, that Queen Bey would be performing during the halftime of a Christmas Day match between Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans.
The streaming platform's press release also mentioned that Queen Bey's halftime performance would feature special guests who were a part of her Cowboy Carter album.
