On September 8, 2024, Kendrick Lamar announced that he would be performing at the 2025 Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime. The Super Bowl LIX is scheduled on February 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

After Kendrick's announcement, fans speculated that the rapper would be winning Record of the Year at the 2025 Grammys which are set to be held on February 2, 2025, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Nominees for the upcoming Grammys will be announced on November 8, 2024, and the final round of voting will run from December 12, 2024, to January 3, 2025.

Putting forth their speculations, internet users took to X, as one of the fans tweeted:

"No round two's": Kendrick Lamar seemingly comments on Drake via Super Bowl halftime announcement

In his announcement video about performing at the 2025 Super Bowl halftime, Kendrick Lamar seemingly referred to Drake's cryptic Instagram post from August 2024 talking about winning Game 2. At one point in the announcement video, Kendrick states:

"You know it's only one opportunity to win a championship. No round two's."

Fans speculate that Kendrick Lamar's "round two's" comment is a dig at Drake's cryptic Instagram post on August 26, 2024 via his alleged burner account @plottttwistttttt, wherein he shared an interview of Detroit Pistons fame Rasheed Wallace, stating:

"Y'all put it on the front page, back page, middle of the page… we will win Game 2,"

After posting a snippet of Rasheed Wallace's interview, Drake also shared an image of the 1987 movie A Better Tomorrow II wherein Chow Yun Fat is aiming guns.

While Kendrick Lamar hasn't addressed Drake directly since their back and forth rap battle, the rapper made headlines by performing Not Like Us five consecutive times at The Pop Out: Ken & Friends which took place on June 19, 2024.

In other news, Kendrick Lamar and Playboi Carti's affiliate Hitta J3 recently responded to a tweet on September 8, 2024, suggesting that the two rappers should work together on new music. Hitta J3 affirmatively responded to the tweet, stating:
