On July 29, 2024, three children Elsie Dot, Alice, and Bebe, were killed in a stabbing at a Taylor Swift-themed dance and yoga class in Southport, England. The next day, Swift expressed her sadness and shock over the incident via Instagram stories, stating:

"The horror of yesterday's attack in Southport is washing over me continuously, and I'm just completely in shock... The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families and first responders. These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families."

Since it was the singer's first time back in the UK after the incident, Taylor reportedly reached out to the families of the Southport stabbing victims before her performance at Wembley Stadium on August 15, 2024.

The Sun reported on August 15, 2024, that an unnamed source told the publication that:

"Taylor may not have spoken about Elsie Dot, Alice and Bebe on stage but she has reached out to their families. It is something that has weighed heavily on her mind.”

Taylor Swift changes title of 'thanK you aIMee' as an alleged diss against Kanye West

Taylor Swift's feud with Kanye West which began in 2009 at the MTV VMAs has progressed over the years including Kim Kardashian in the mix as well. Recently Taylor's The Tortured Poets Department blocked West and Ty Dolla $ign's Vultures 2 on the Billboard 200 chart by securing the No. 1 position at its 14th week.

Taylor Swift recently made a minor change to her song 'thanK you aIMee' by changing its title to 'thank You aimEe.' While the previous title spelled out KIM referring to Kim Kardashian when the capital letters were taken together, the changed title comprises letters Y and E in caps spelling Ye which is Kanye's new name. Fans speculate that this is Taylor's way of dissing the rapper after blocking his album from surpassing hers on Billboard.

The track shades Kim Kardashian for sharing footage of a phone call between the Shake It Off singer and Kanye in 2016 regarding Ye's song Famous, which had controversial lyrics regarding Swift and for which the music video featured Taylor's naked sculpture in a still. In the footage leaked by Kardashian of the call between Taylor and Kanye, the singer was heard stating that she would've never expected Ye to tell her about her line in the song and mentioned;

"If people ask me about it, look, I think it would be great for me to be like, 'He called me and told me before it came out … Joke's on you, guys. We're fine.'

However, Swift took to Instagram in July 2016 and stated that while the rapper promised to play the song for her, he never did. The Blank Space singer stated:

"While I wanted to be supportive of Kanye on the phone call, you cannot 'approve' a song you haven't heard. Being falsely painted as a liar when I was never given the full story or played any part of the song is character assassination."

While Ye and Swift get back at one another indirectly occassionally, the last Taylor Swift spoke about the incident publicly was in December 2023 wherein she dubbed it a "career death" in her Time Magazine’s 2023 Person of the Year interview.

Additionally, during her performance in London in June 2024, Taylor Swift offered an insight into her inspiration for thank You aimEe and told the audience that the song makes her "think about how every time someone talks s**t," which makes her work harder and also makes her tougher. Swift also mentioned that she is "incredibly thankful for those people.”
