On September 4, 2024, artist Jeffrey Lewis took to Instagram to reportedly accuse Sabrina Carpenter of stealing his artwork. Jeffrey claimed that the pop star copied his "vinyltine" vinyl-heart artwork for her Emails I Can't Send tour poster wherein the font and design used appeared to be the same.
The artist also mentioned that he has been selling tote bags of his viny heart artwork outside Sabrina Carpenter's sold-out stadium. In his carousel post, he added a video where he carried a sign that read:
"Sabrina stole my art!!! Get the original!! (Ask me for the story)"
Internet users were quick to react to Jeffrey Lewis' post and took to the comment section to express their opinions on the situation. Commenting on how similar Sabrina's poster was to Jeffrey's artwork, a netizen stated:
"Wow, that's an absolutely blatant ripoff. Hope you get some compensation."
Moreover, internet users drew comparisons between Jeffrey's artwork and Sabrina's poster, calling out the Espresso singer and her marketing team for the same:

In his post, Jeffrey Lewis claimed that he drew the "vinyltine" vinyl-heart artwork in 2012 and it was uploaded on the Rough Trade Records' Facebook page on his behalf in the same year. He mentioned that he usually reposts it on Valentine's Day how and this is not the first instance of his artwork being bootlegged.
Moreover, the artist also posted a video of himself selling tote bags with his original artwork outside Sabrina Carpenter's show at Madison Square Garden, which took place on September 29, 2024. Jeffrey commented on the situation and shared:
"I've been selling my tote bags outside her sold-out stadium gigs this week (as seen in these pix!). Yes, the Madison Square Garden security told me to move along, as seen here! It was just a fun experiment to set up my table and see what might happen. Like, "what would Kramer do?"

In an interview with the same publication on October 2, 2024, the Please Please Please singer talked about her albums and addressed comments on her dressing sense. While discussing her performance costumes, Sabrina stated that they are a part of the feminity that she's always embraced. She added:
"And if right now that means corsets and garter belts and fuzzy robes or whatever the f*ck, then that's what that means."
