Rapper Rick Ross recently took to Instagram to celebrate Father's Day in a unique way. According to a TMZ report from September 2021, Rick was directed to pay Briana Singleton $11,000 per month in child support for their three children, and he made his last payment on June 17, 2024.
During his Instagram Live celebration, Rick Ross asked his viewers whether they would rather celebrate Father's Day or the last child support payment. He stated:
"What would you rather celebrate, Father's Day or the date of your last child support payment? Or, what if your last child support payment was on Father’s Day weekend? That’s what you call divine divinity."
Rick Ross and Briana Singleton had been involved in a paternity case for over a year after Briana accused the rapper of not paying child support. As per TMZ, in addition to the child support, Rick was also required to pay $7,560 for his children's extracurricular activities and health insurance, along with additional annual payments amounting to $3K per child.
Moreover, the Mafia Music rapper agreed to pay Briana Singleton's attorney about $25K in line with his monthly income mentioned at $585K in the court documents.
Additionally, according to TMZ, Briana Singleton filed legal documents in May 2021 at Fayette Country, Georiga, and requested an emergency hearing to have Rick take a COVID-19 test before seeing their kids.
"You going to be paying child support for [them] ‘tlll you about 70" — Rick Ross' ex Tia Kemp slams him for celebrating
While Rick Ross celebrated his final child support payment publicly, his ex, Tia Kemp, criticized the act. Tia Kemp and Rick share a son, William Roberts III, who is Rick's eldest.
Slamming his recent act, Tia Kemp posted a video on Instagram, which was later shared by YouTube channel 9MagTV. Tia began the video stating she came onto the social media platform to "cuss a b***h out" and then mentioned:
"You stupid silly m*thaf**ka. Who the f**k give a f**k about your child support payments, b***h. And if I want some more, I’ll take my a** over to family court and get some while he going to college."
Tia Kemp also alleged that Rick Ross has multiple children and he will continue paying child support for decades. In the video, Tia stated:
"You got to worry about them eight or nine over there you got. You going to be paying child support for [them] ‘tlll you about 70."
Tia sued Rick for paternity in 2007, and the ex-couple reached a confidential settlement for support and custody in 2010. However, Tia claimed that she had been trying to get Rick to increase the funds of child support since 2015, but the rapper refused to let her look into his financial particulars.
At the time, Rick accused Tia Kemp of asking for more child support so she could lie off that amount rather than seek employment by herself.
Tia Kemp has been public about her issues with Rick Ross and has mentioned them in her book Tia's Diary Deeper Than Rap: Clarity, Truth, And Exposure.
