As per Reuters, rapper Lil Durk was arrested on October 25, 2024, under suspicion of ordering the murder of a rival from his position as the leader of his hip-hop group Only the Family in 2022. Durk was arrested near an airport where he was booked on a flight leaving the U.S. as per the criminal complaint against him.
Talking about Lil Durk's arrest, DJ Akademiks claimed in a recent livestream on October 28, 2024, that the reason the feds arrested him at the time was because they thought Durk was going to escape and so they locked him up.
Akademiks also claimed that the feds are "cooking up a grand jury indictment" and that:
"I think, is not only gonna have this murder for hire, it's gonna be a superseding indictment. It might be racketeering. Or it might have other murders and other attempted murders. That's gonna be the big bang."

As per an FBI affidavit released on October 25, 2024, Lil Durk has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire in the death of Saviay'a Robinson who was shot on August 19, 2022.
"They might have other situations" - DJ Akademiks comments on Lil Durk's arrest
During his recent livestream on October 28, 2024, DJ Akademiks alleged that more attempted murders might be brought up in a full indictment in Lil Durk's case.
Durk's arrest is in relation to the attempt on Quando Rondo's life, and according to Akademiks:
"When the feds unseal this indictment, they're gonna have every attempt on Quando Rondo's life. There was supposedly like three or four before. They might have FBG Cash, they might have other situations. They might bring back that Atlanta joint back that he was co-defendants with Von.'"
DJ Akademiks has been livestreaming on the topic of Durk's arrest since the rapper was imprisoned. During a livestream on October 25, 2024, Akademiks collapsed after watching Durk's mugshot.
Initially, Akademiks showed livestream viewers the news of Durk's arrest and was laughing about it until he realised the rapper's arrest was a serious situation. In the livestream, DJ Akademiks said:
"He's in Florida. I got the whole thing on my stream I got it! Oh my god bro! I pulled it up myself ni**a! He's locked up ni**a!...I was hoping this was all a big a** joke."
Moreover, on October 26, 2024, DJ Akademiks posted a snippet from his interview with Lil Durk from 2023. In the interview, Akademiks asked the rapper about the "slide for Von" comments that internet users leave under his post.
These referred to fans asking him if he planned to avenge Only The Family member King Von's death who was shot in November 2020. Lil Durk's response to the same was:
“For some reason I just don’t see them comments no more”
Since Akademiks posted the clip shortly after Durk's arrest, internet users began speculating if the rapper was indirectly confessing to have taken revenge for Von's death.
As per ABC News dated October 26, 2024, Lil Durk is one of the five co-conspirators in the case of an attempt on Quando Rondo's life in August 2022. The rapper is currently held by the U.S. Marshals Service in the Broward County Jail without bail.
