"The look on his face says a lot" — Internet reacts to DJ Akademiks reposting video where he asks Lil Durk about “slide for Von” comments

Following Lil Durk's arrest on charges of murder-for-hire on October 25, 2024, DJ Akademiks took to X on October 26, 2024, and reposted an old interview of the two.

The interview took place in 2023 wherein DJ Akademiks asked Lil Durk if he was triggered by the "slide for Von" comments that were posted by internet users as a means to ask the rapper if he was going to take revenge for King Von's death. King Von was shot in November 2020 and he was a part of Durk's hip hop group Only the Family (OTF).

Responding to DJ Akademiks' question about "slide for Von comments", Lil Durk said:

“For some reason I just don’t see them comments no more”

The video reposted by DJ Akademiks has garnered a lot of attention and internet users were quick to express their opinions on the same via X. Commenting on Durk's expression in the video, an X user tweeted:

DJ Akademiks collapsed watching Lil Durk's mugshot

Lil Durk aka Durk Banks was arrested in Florida shortly after five members from his hip hop crew were detained in California. The five members are Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston and they have been charged in connection to the alleged murder of rapper Quando Rondo's cousin in 2022.

According to Reuters, as per a criminal-compliant, Lil Durk was arrested from near an airport where he was leaving the United States on a booked flight. The publication also mentioned that the rapper was the suspect previously identified as Co-Conspirator 1 in an indictment that took place on October 17, 2024, along with five other suspects in connection to the 2022 murder of Saviay'a Robinson.

Reacting to the news of Lil Durk's arrest during a live stream on October 25, 2024, DJ Akademiks overcame with emotion and started shouting after which he collapsed on the floor. DJ Akademiks said that he was hoping all of it was a big joke. Internet users also empathized with DJ Akademiks and left affirmative comments on his stream.

As per XXL dated October 25, 2024, Durk is currently being held at Broward County Jail without bond. Moreover, Akademiks TV mentioned that if the rapper is found guilty of the charge of murder-for-hire, he could receive life imprisonment or the death penalty.
