Every Friday we get some of the biggest music releases across genres, with artists dropping lead singles and full-length projects on all major DSPs (Digital Streaming Platforms).

This week we'll be looking at some of the hottest Hip Hop music drops from some of the biggest rappers in the game. From rising stars to established artists, our list will include records that would make an impressive addition to every Hip Hop fan's music playlist.


Rap Radar: Hip Hop releases of the week (10 June 2024 - 16 June 2024)

These five records have caught major attention from online news media outlets across social media, with many projects aiming to break through Billboard's album and Hot 100 charts.

1) HARDSTONE PSYCHO (Don Toliver) - Album Release

Don Toliver has finally released his fourth studio album titled HARDSTONE PSYCHO across all major DSPs, which includes features from some of the biggest artists in the game like Travis Scott, Charlie Wilson, Cash Cobain, Future, Metro Boomin, and Kodak Black.

The entire album has a runtime of around 51 minutes with 16 individual songs included as part of the tracklist, with artists delving into themes of relationships, intimacy, love, growth, wealth, and luxury.

A major reference seen across the project is Don's mindset regarding the birth of his son and his growing relationship with singer Kali Uchis, who also makes an appearance in the music video for BANDIT. 2) No Speak (Moneybagg Yo) - Album Release

Moneybagg Yo just dropped his fifth studio album titled Speak Now featuring highly energetic performances from the Memphis rapper who recruited A-List talents to assist the project. The project included features from Chris Brown, Lil Durk, YTB Fatt, Morgan Wallen, and Kevo Muney.

The project has complete runtime of 44 minutes with a total of 17 songs included as part of Speak Now's tracklist. The album features plenty of heavy bass and menacing production elements strewn across its records, with wealth and success being a consistent theme brought up on Moneybagg's latest LP. 3) DEVIL IS A LIE (Tommy Richman) - Single Release

Tommy Richman finally followed up on his Billboard summer smash hit Million Dollar Baby, with another 2000s-inspired production that draws listeners into the Virginia rapper's retro-funk sonic landscape. DEVIL IS A LIE was delivered to all major DSPs on Friday, June 14, via ISO Supremacy, under an exclusive license to PULSE RECORDS.

Tommy appears to have pushed past the "one-hit-wonder" claims that plagued his social media after MDB blew up, back in April, with the release of DEVIL IS A LIE. The song was also released alongside an accompanying music video which was uploaded to the rapper's official music video.

"But you got no confidence like me (Mm, mm) / Only wanna run around and chase me (Mm, mm) / I'm not no Travis, baby, not no Chase B (Ah, ah, ah) / I work too hard, can you f--kin' pay me?" - Tommy Richman's hook on 'DEVIL IS A LIE'.

4) Mink (Quavo) - Single Release

Quavo has released a new single titled Mink to all major DSPs via Quality Control Music, under an exclusive license to UMG Recordings. The track's production was credited to producers Atake, Sluzyyy, and Mason Wu, who put together a menacing trap production.

Huncho brings a bouncy flow, with an iconic cadence, highlighting an affinity to Wealth and Women, while flexing his affiliations and success. The track was released alongside a music video, which features the rapper partying with his entourage. showing off his expensive lifestyle.

"I was workin' a trap, never worked a plan B / Don't forget your strap, boy, playin’ in these streets (Bao) / I just put two hundred bands in the kitchen sink (Kitchen) / Woo, woo, woo, lil' bit' p---y pink, so I went and bought a mink" - Quavo's hook on 'Mink'.

5) You Can’t Stop This Reign (Shaquille O’Neal x The Notorious B.I.G) - Single Release

Basketball All-Star MVP and four-ring-winning legend, Shaquille O'Neal, has unearthed his 1996 track titled, You Can't Stop This Reign, from his third studio album of the same name. The track has finally been uploaded to all major DSPs after almost 30 years.

The re-release features The Notorious B.I.G, who hopped on the record back in '96 after name-dropping Shaq on his debut album titled Ready to Die. Both the stars appeared to have mutual respect for one another, with Shaq explaining how B.I.G happened to give him one of the most exclusive verses in all of hip-hop during his 2022 interview on Drink Champs.

"From being tied up by Colombians (Uh) / 'Cause eighty grams was missin' / Listen, had to change my position / From wantin' to be large to head n----s in charge / My garage, call it Cee-Lo, four, fives and sixes / Honeys by the mixes (Uh), if it ain't broke don't fix it" - Biggie's verse on 'You Can’t Stop This Reign'.

Other notable Hip Hop releases that dropped this past Friday include Normani's debut studio album Dopamine, Action Bronson's Sega, and $UICIDEBOY$'s fourth studio album New World Depression.
