The singer announced the rescheduled tour via a post on his official Instagram page on August 18, 2024:
The Weeknd Australian tour dates and venues
The dates and venues for the singer's rescheduled Australia tour are as follows:
- October 5, 2024 - Melbourne, Australia, at Marvel Stadium
- October 6, 2024 - Melbourne, Australia, at Marvel Stadium
- October 22, 2024 - Sydney, Australia, at Accor Stadium

The singer elaborated on the statement in a general press statement on August 18, 2024, stating:
“I feel a strong pull to perform in Australia before moving on to the next chapter and want to make sure you all know I hadn't forgotten about you. When I return now, it will be the right time, and I promise it will be such a special experience. I can’t wait to see you all!”
This will be the singer's first new tour in Australia since 2017. Aside from his Australia tour, the singer will perform for one night at the Estádio MorumBIS in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on September 7, 2024. The singer announced the concert back in July, with $1 from each ticket sale going to the XO Humanitarian Fund in partnership with UN World Food Programme.
The singer, born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, is currently working on his final album under The Weeknd persona. The singer talked about retiring the persona and the still-to-be-named album in an exclusive interview with W magazine on May 8, 2023, stating:
"I’m going through a cathartic path right now. It’s getting to a place and a time where I’m getting ready to close the Weeknd chapter, I’ll still make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as The Weeknd. But I still want to kill The Weeknd. And I will. Eventually. I’m definitely trying to shed that skin and be reborn."
The singer later added:
"The album I’m working on now is probably my last hurrah as The Weeknd. This is something that I have to do. As The Weeknd, I’ve said everything I can say."
The upcoming album was teased recently by the singer via a minute-long video clip on August 5, 2024, on his official Instagram. The video showcases images such as a sports car, red suits, a mannequin, and a young boy surrounded by another host of white mannequins.
