Ever since the poster of the Dem Jeans rapper performing at the Log Cabin Republican event went viral, internet users have come up with multiple theories from the rapper having money problems to him being a Trump supporter as reasons behind him performing at the event.
Instagram page Baller Alert posted the event's poster on September 21, 2024, alongside a caption talking about the same which garnered a lot of attention as well. However, amidst multiple comments under the post, one was from the We Got rapper himself defending his work against the rumours.
Clarifying that his participation in the Republican event is strictly due to business purposes, the rapper commented:
“I’ma say this one time. MY JOB IS TO PERFORM AND I GET PAID TO PERFORM, NOT CAURR ABOUT POLITICS. NOW YALL FIND SUMIN ELSE TO DO WITH YURR TIME."
However, one of the commentators @paulodoom commented that the rapper should tell his fans that he is down and the culture would support him. The commenter also referred to the rapper performing for people who hate him and his community hinting at Trump's political agenda.
Responding to the commenter, the rapper clarified his stance monetarily and as a performer by mentioning:
“You can’t be down bad when you just bought a 500k house p*mp. Those people don’t hate me because they love my music. Music isn’t racist and that’s how I play it. All this nonsense y’all creating bothers me none.”
He continued:
“I’m a performer, whether these people are political, homos*xual, or whatever—they all love music. I have classic records they all love, and I will perform them for them. So I hope that helps you innerstand that my job as an artist is to perform and make timeless music. That I did.”
In other news, on September 14, 2024, the Pullin Me Back rapper was honoured by Tishuara Jones, the mayor of St. Louis with a proclamation declaring the day in the rapper's name in the city.
